Cool. I hope my cable network picks this up. Shit, I'll even pay for it myself if I have to.

Looking at Fright Channel's programming, not many shows. Will probably be alot of reruns, like G4 game channel.

This sounds excellent! I've been wanting an all horror channel for years. I've got 2 cable companies in my area and if the competition picks this up before my current cable company, you bet your ass I'm switching!

Unless it's a pay channel, like HBO, Skinemax, or Slowtime, things WILL be edited. Either way, that's fine with me. It's been a long time coming. It may take some time before they have their own "original productions" like Sci-Fi, but that's okay too. Good things come to those who wait.

Sounds good to me. Hopefully it will be a self contained channel like HBO or MAX and play unedited horror in widescreen or whatever OAR it should be and maybe it could incorporate a daily news show around 7pm that keeps up to date info on the realm of horror movies. That would rock!

I will be all over this channel. In fact, I'll call up Time Warner sometime this week when I can and ask if they know anything about it, etc.

Luna, I can give you Time Waners response (This will work for Comcast, Media One, Jones Intercable, WOW, RCN):

"While we are always looking to expanded our channel lineup for our vauled customers, we currently do not have plans to add ____ to our existing lineup".

Trust me, I work for a very large cable company.

It would be perfect for original programming such as the long proposed Living Dead show and the just recently presented Crystal Lake show. I hope this happens so we can see old episodes of Freddy's Nightmares and Tales From The Darkside!
This station would be awesome!

Trust me, I work for a very large cable company. That's pretty much what I expect. Bastards. I'll try anyway though. Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic (which would be a rare thing for me, but I'm making an exception for this channel), but if nobody calls because they're accepting defeat before they've begun... then it won't happen anyway. I figure if I call, what's the worst they can tell me? I'm already expecting a no. ;)

It looks as though the movies will be shown uncut. Here's the word from Fangoria:

Of course, the question on every Fangorian’s lips is whether the programming will be shown uncensored. “Yes,” answers Psaltos. “Films will be uninterrupted and uncut. Older TV series will have the commercial interruptions that were originally edited into them. Some of the more graphic films will probably only be available on our sister Video On Demand channel.” Adds Bangash, “The advent of digital cable allows us many creative ways to keep the movies coming uncut.”

What do they mean by Video On Demand channel? Sounds like we'll be paying extra to watch the gore. Personally I like the idea of a horror channel. But from a business point of view, I just don't see how they are going to make any money.

That is what I was thinking, I would love to see those. Hell yeah. I bet this would make satellite in Japan too because they love this shit, which means I could see it too.

What about OAR presentations? Must be OAR and uncensored.

I have been waiting for an all horror channel I just hope it isn't like scifi.

Dammit, if Soap operas can have their own channel, why the hell can't horror related stuff!!???!!?!?

Sci-Fi can be pretty dang close to being a horror channel, but their programming goes back & forth between Science Fiction sh*t & edited horror. I will give Sci-Fi credit for sometimes showing movies in their OAR. Dammit, if its a horror channel run just like the Sci-Fi channel, I'll take it! I ain't gonna be picky!

Well, I would like to see some original horror shows created, so I'll hope for the best in that regard.

Ever since Monstervision went off the air the SciFi channel has been my only resource for cool horror movies. Too bad half of the stuff they show I've already seen. But they usually present stuff close to uncut (I remember Hellraiser and Hellbound being on and both only having maybe a couple frames trimmed.)
