WHAT'S NEXT ON THE REMAKE BLOCK?
"I'm not even going to get upset about Hollywood remakes anymore, and that's a promise. From what I've heard about the the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and that is quite a bit so far, it's actually pretty damn good and if they can pull that off...well who knows.
While attending a screening of TCM this weekend, a scooper over at Dark Horizons decided to stick around for the Q&A afterwards, which consisted of R.Lee Ermey, Heather Kafka, and executive producer Jeff Allard. They mentioned another "big remake", but wouldn't say what it was, until the scooper was able to talk to someone official afterwards. It was then revealed to him the next remake of a classic 70's horror flick would be...
The Hills Have Eyes.
Like I said, if they can make fans of the original TCM with a remake produced by Michael Bay and staring a lot of very pretty people, I can imagine they could pull off other miracles, too. Remaking the classic Wes Craven cannibal movie (get the brand-new DVD of it here) is risky, but almost makes sense if you consider the look and feel of the new TCM.
The scoopers anonymous source said they're going into production this year on it, so consider us on it, folks."
