Which is your favorite PJ flick?

I've only seen Dead Alive (Braindead) and The Frighteners, and DA beats it.

Bad Taste
Yes, Braindead is more polished and much gorier, but I still think Bad Taste is funnier. Plus, Bad Taste has Derek. Any movie with an Uzi-toting, chainsaw wielding psychotic nerdy scientist gets my vote any time.

Ditto Fishhead's comments. I chose Bad Taste/

Good to see Forgotten Silver listed. I'm a silent film fanatic and this Forgotten Silver was amazing, way overlooked as far as I'm concerned.

....there's some stiff competition, there.
Bad Taste is a superb movie - it takes the viewer on an unexpected (and rather demented) journey. Original and very, very funny. I can't wait for AB's release.

Yup, Bad Taste rules. It's doesn't have the over the top charm in Meet the Feebles or the blood and guts fun (not off by much) in BrainDead, but in a way, it's the best because it's so low budget. Beside, the accents make the film even funnier.

i've never even heard of Forgotten Silver...what's it about?

Forgotten Silver is a real gem. I was very happy to see it released on DVD. If you like PJ's other works, then you should like this. If you want an unspoiled experience with it (and that would be a good thing) then quit reading and go buy/rent the disc. Otherwise...
HERE BE FORGOTTEN SILVER SPOILERS!!!
The film, from PJ and Costa Botes (the alien in Bad Taste that Derek hits with his car), created a big fuss in New Zealand when it was shown on TV. It is a documentary about the life of extraordinary film pioneer Colin MacKenzie. MacKenzie made the first feature length film, invented color film, developed synchronized sound, and other great feats. He even filmed a New Zealand inventor who flew before the Wright brothers.
Sadly, Colin never got recognition. A series of bad luck kept him from world fame. (For instance, his movie with sound flopped because the actors all spoke Chinese and, as Leonard Maltin states, he just didn't think to use subtitles.)
So, for many days, New Zealanders were proud of their film pioneer...
Then....
The truth came out. PJ and Costa Botes made everything up.
It is told so convincingly that it's hard not to believe, even knowing that it's a hoax. It is also extremely funny. Hysterically funny. Get the DVD, you won't be sorry.

I'm not a Jackson fan. For me, the Frightners is the best, and the most worthy of repeat viewings.

I went with Dead Alive. Where's Lord Of The Rings 'cuz those are deffinitely the best? Just kidding (although they are the best), I saw when the poll was started.

I voted for Heavenly Creatures. I liked the way Peter Jackson took a real life incident and put his interpretation of those events by saying they lived in a fantasy world of their own making.

I haven't seen Heavenly Creatures yet, I was planning on renting it not too long ago, but went with a slew of other titles instead. Maybe this week I'll get to it since I get paid tomorrow. First off, hopefully I have enough for rent and smokes though, then I can worry about my movie fix.

My vote goes for Bad Taste with Dead Alive as a close second. I like the humor in Bad Taste more and Ozzy(not Ozzy Osbourne) is in it.

Gee, thank you for clarifying that for me Adric, dumas.
Moderator's note; I presume you were attempting to use the word 'dumbass'? Unless you were referring to the 19th century French writer of historical fiction, let's not go calling other forum members such names. It only causes forum disharmony, which in turn gives me a big fucking headache when I have to deal with it.
So let's play nice.
Thank you,

I've only seen Dead Alive, Bad Taste, and Heavenly Creatures and Dead Alive easily edges out Bad Taste, but I'm a fan of both. Heavenly Creatures was good, but in a completely different catagory than the other two.

I haven't seen Forgotten Silver, so I'll hold my vote.
I did re-watch Heavnely Creatures recently, and while I didn't hate as much as I did the first time, I still don't see why everyone loves it so much.
I'll hold my vote until King Kong comes out, cuz the early stuff I've seen of that (concept drawings and shit) looks fucking sweet!
Put a gun to my head and I'll vote Braindead for now, with Frighteners an inch behind.
I'm going Lord of the Rings: Fellowship extended cut. Everyone who likes to dis the series can eat some caca :D

Well, I don't believe LOTR or King Kong is/are or ever will be an option in this poll.
I just rented and watched Heavenly Creatures for the first time (could I retract a vote for Dead Alive). Excellent film, probably his best for any audience or for story/themes, but I'd have to say Dead Alive is definitely the bigger entertainer.
Lord of the Rings - Everyone who likes to dis the series can eat some caca Do people really put down this trilogy? The only negative comments I've ever heard is that they are toooo long and hard to get through.

Yes. Yes they do. Myself included. (DIE Viggo Mortensen DIE!!)
I voted for Heavenly Creatures, followed closely by The Frighteners.

It's not that i necessarily don't like Viggo. I don't like Viggo as Aragorn. So HOV is still a go. :-)

Yes, but that's probably because I find fantasy flicks pretty hard to stomach... that and they are too long and pretentious.

Well, I personally think that they are overrated. And I think that The Ghost Army doesn't make much sense... why not get the Ghost Army in the first place instead od waiting until the last moment?
"Oh shit, I just remebered- This ghost army owes me a favor!!! Man, we are lucky, without that army of ghosts, Middle Earth would have been toast!"

Dead Alive aka Braindead was the first PJ movie I saw & I knew this guy was destined for bigger things! It got my vote.
The Frighteners would be my 2nd choice.
The only one on the poll I have NOT seen is Forgotten Silver....gotta get off my a$$ to see it, but I doubt it'll overtake my love for Dead Alive.

1. meet the feebles ( "eat lead you man stealing slut!!!")
2 brain dead
3 the frighteners
4 bad taste
5 heavenly creatures
and let me say THANK YOU!!!!!! for agreeing that the lord of the rings trilogy is WAY overrated, most people I meet consider me border line retarded for not thinking that lord of the rings movies are the closest thing to heaven ever.

i don't think he's that good a director. Well, in any case i don't like his trashy approach. In the end his LOTR movies are his best and even those aren't very good...anyone noticed they are directed in a similar style as his gore flicks?

Dead Alive. I'm not going to call it Braindead until I've seen and own the uncut version of that title.
