favorite horror/scifi tv show in the last few years

Easy one - X-Files, baby! Just got into it last season, but I've watched Seasons 1 and 2 recently. Working on Season 3 now.

My vote went to Millenium. Lance Henriksen was great as Frank Black and it was just a great show.

...moment, IMHO. Actually, having said that, the latest series of The X-Files was unbelievably fine, perhaps the best yet. It's a close call between the two.

Chris Carter and Robert Patrick have taken the series in a new direction....or rather, they've re-visited the darker territories that the first couple of series ventured into. The season finale was pure brilliance....I watched it tonight and was very impressed.

Like Mr. Love Girls I voted for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents... show, mainly because of that one episode where the guy can stop time and he keeps doing it when he shouldn't and then there's a nuclear war and he stops time while the nuclear bombs are flying through mid-air and it's a really creepy episode. (Note: I THOUGHT that this episode was part of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, but the fact that I responded to this post before reading all the other responses has proven my ignorance and has basically made me look stupid. It WAS The Twilight Zone and I'm off to change my vote...because it's that important.)

Has there EVER been a truly great horror TV show? There may have been, but I can't think of one...and the original Twilight Zone doesn't count as horror in my book.

But who really cares about MY book, right?

Even though I like almost of all those shows, especially Millenium, The X-Files, Twillight Zone and The Outer Limits, I voted for Tales From the Crypt. IMO the definition of a horror TV-show. The elite of horror and fantasy directors and actors have put their mark on the episodes of the show and I think I haven't seen one episode that didn't amuse me in some fashion. On the other hand I haven't seen all the episodes but you get the point. Any fan of The Outer Limits re-made TV-show out there? I saw one episode that really spoke to me and I though were fascinating . It's an episode where the world have just found out that it's 24 hours from it's destruction due to the sun crashing into earth or vice versa. A man and a good-looking neighbour of his find themselves interested of eachother and spends the last night on earth together. Well, the sun eventually crashes and the earth fills with lava and fire and stuff and everyone dies, except he, the man who in the closing seconds of the episode opens the windows and finds out his destiny and starts to scream. Anyway have anyone seen that particular episode, I would like to know the name of it and the specifics of the plot because I don't remember all the details.

I quite enjoyed Dark Skies. I think it got cut short. It had a pretty decent premise and looked like it would go places - unfortunately it appeared to be too much like the X Files. At least it ended with a chance to go on.

Or perhaps it continued but not in Australia after the first season.
