I finally got to see Freddy vs Jason in Australia (just got released). FUCKING AWESOME. Going back to the old style blood and tits horror, but with current splatter gore technology, and damn good fights and kills. I saw kill bill last weekend and left the theatre fucking PISSED. I left Freddy vs Jason with a smile on my face. No pretentious shit, no fucking homages, no fucking drawn out close ups of that ugly cunt uma thurmans disgustingly deformed feet, we had buckets of blood and TITS of nubile chicks. TIT SHOTS not UGLY BITCH FEET SHOTS.

You know after all that kung-fu, her feet were bound to be a little deformed.
Also saw FvJ yesterday and was surprised to find myself totally enjoying it. I only wished they'd started combining Friday & Elm St movies a long time ago - would have saved myself a lot of time and money.....

Ooh, I wrote something unintentionally clever!

I loved FvJ, but I fear that they are going to ruin the fun. Already there is too much talk about "This versus That" movies. They won't stop until they make a total mockery of the whole idea!

Just seen it last week. Decent night's fun I imagine the DVD will get a few plays in our house when it surfaces. To be honest though for the amount of re-writes and the time it took to get to the big screen not to mention the presents of one Mr Yu at the helm I did expect better. At times the story lacks imagination especially the beginning and the end were the links and set up are weak and feel cliched. The mid section I feel is were the movie really works. Good story, nice set pieces and good imagery.

Seriously though, I thought they did an excellent job of making an original story within the confines of both mythologies. Like Freddy manipulating Michael to start killing on Elm St again to get Freddy back, the town conspiracy, the plan backfiring, etc.

Well, this is nothing new. I watched Frankenstein V. Wolf Man tonight, and that was 1944!

Damn straight!
I dragged my poor girlfriend off to see this (and bless her for coming).
You need to check your brain at the door for this one (and I was fortunate to be at a cinema that served alcohol). Even so, it was just great to see the two characters at play again :D
DVD comes to OZ on January 21, which is about the same time as the US. I hope the features are the same, though...
