well the face does look like a Mike Mignola drawing so at least that's good

I love the hellboy comic, I hope Del Toro makes this work.

Yeah, it looks good and Del Toro is an interesting director with a pretty unique visual style so at least it hopefully won't look like another Matrix-pastiche.

as long as it dosent have horrendous cgi fights like Blade2 I'll be happy. I saw some clips somewhere of all the animatronic stuff and it looks really cool

The Hellboy story doesn't lend itself to Matrix effects....the story is more "film-noir" style...
...at least when I last read Hellboy

...at least when I last read HellboyI was a bit worried coz the poster does look very much like Matrix/Blade/Underworld ...

I really can't see myself liking this, but then again it's Del Toro so i'll give it a try.

ok at upcominghorrormovies.com they posted the following
Director Guillermo del Toro spoke with Empire Online (http://www.empireonline.co.uk/site/features/interviews/interviews.asp?IID=152) recently in a webchat, where he revealed some details on the film. He was quoted saying how he'd be interested in making Hellboy into a trilogy, and then went on to speak a little on the possible story for the sequel, saying: "We tried to do an entire sequel based on the Roger [a homunculus created by a scientist to bring about the end of the world] origin story, and found it to be actually very similar to what Hellboy is in the first movie - a conflicted monster. So the sequel will have another BPRD member, Johan the Ectoplasmic Agent".
i thought the hellboy fans would like to know this

I enjoyed this movie... Del Toro has obviously done much much better work in his career, but this is a definite step-up from BLADE II (which I found some enjoyment out of, despite the fact that it was a bit heavy on the CGI). I'd look forward to a HELLBOY sequel.
