View Full Version : Manitou ever getting a dvd release?

The recent talk of Abby got me interested in William Girdler's other movies, in particular Manitou. Has anyone heard about any dvd company planning to release this? Also does anyone know who has the rights to Manitou or his other movies (Grizzly, Day of the Animals etc.)? I found a cool site about the man here www.williamgirdler.com but haven't got a chance to fully explore it yet. I know Grizzly and Day of the Animals had shitty dvd releases a while back and Grizzly is still available but I would like a good release.

Manitou is truly over-the-top, not so much content wise but story and direction. This was a pretty ambitious picture, but man it comes off as preposterous and crazy, in the most charming ways of course. I'd love a DVD.

I'd love to see The Manitou on DVD. Its been years since I last saw it, and I hadn't thought about it in a long time. Excellent film, and I'm glad you reminded me of it. Its been too long.
I'd also love to see Day of the Animals get a good DVD release. As for Grizzly, I thought it was pretty decent. I'd probably pick it up too.

I wish that THE MANITOU had been out on DVD this past April.
I had to use a VHS tape at the World Horror Convention (I was in charge of the film program).

When we ran it at WHC, I realized that the film was alot better than I had remembered.
Would love to see a Special Edition out on DVD, maybe they could get Graham Masterton to do the commentary.
