I've never seen this movie, is it any good ?. And how does MGM's DVD look ?. -The price is certainly acceptable.

Most Lovecraft story adaptions are various degrees of terrible. At best, most are an acquired taste and a certain level of tolerance is necessary.
That said, if you are not too picky about the free hand with the adaptions, this (THE DUNWICH HORROR) is pretty cool, but slow. It caused quite an uproar in its time because of the frankly sexual nature of the material from its two rather chaste leads (Dean Stockwell and Sandra Dee). Also look for a young Talia Shire in a supporting roll.
The "Horror" of the title is a barely glimpsed psychedelic mass of snakes, tentacles, and other slimy probing appendages. Not nearly as "horrifying" as the berserk demon of the Lovecraft story, it is effective none the less. Another plus is the weird dream imagery and groovy score.
I would recommend it but with a warning to remember what it is: A non-too-faithful Lovecraft adaption, made in the US in the early '70s in a PG format (with a little nudity restored).

Sounds kind of Bava/Corman(AIP)-like. I might give it a try, then. Thanks.
