Customize Your Own FREDDY VS JASON Matchup

So I was reflecting on FREDDY VS JASON, and I just couldn't get over how unrealistic the final fight was. I mean, they built Jason up all movie to have this incredible strength. Prior to his real world showdown with Freddy, we see Jason:

1) Fold a guy backwards

2) Twist a guy's head 180 degrees around with the same ease as turning a doorknob

3) Spear a guy and fling him 20+ feet up in air

4) Cut a guy clean in half with one swipe of his machete

And yet, when faced with a middle-aged guy with a slight build and rather unimposing finger knives, Jason can't seem to hang.....WTH!??!

I know, I know...it's just a movie.

And I'm a Jason fan, so it hurts to see him getting whooped-on, so I decided that a better match-up (for Jason fans at least) would be the Jason from FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 and any damn Freddy you NIGHTMARE fans want.... ;)

Because it's not going to matter then, as that PART 3 Jason had the same size as the
FVJ poser, but he also had the original hops (remember the good old days when Jason could RUN and jump out of the way of things coming his way?) that these lame zombie Jasons have no clue about.

Zombie Jason: stumbles around and walks EVERYWHERE/has awful reflexes/stands there and just takes the punishment

Jason from PART 3: fast on his feet/cat-like reflexes (remember his turn-around arm-dispatch of Ali?)/knows when to get out of the way (as in avoiding oncoming vans)

So, there's my matchup: Jason from PART 3 and whatever Freddy you want......

My preference for Jason would be the part 2 Jason. I just found him to be the scariest, especially 'cause he ran around and shit. As for Freddy, his best moments were in part 3 - the skeleton in the wrecker's was cool as well as the 'puppet master' heh, heh, heh...

Who would win? Most likely Jason, 'cause he would be stupid enough to attack a mirror ;)

A better match would be Jason X vs. Freddy. That fight would take the entire movie.

Although part 2 and 3 Jason was at full strength (minus the machete hacks from part 2), he was not very wise. He was getting spotted in the wild, and seemed fairly vulnerable when compared to the later movies where he went unseen for most of the picture.

However, I guess that does not translate well when talking about a one on one battle with Freddy, who apparently has been taking kung fu lessons to prepare for Jason. I guess all things considered, part 3 Jason would be the best, due to his running ability combined with sheer brute force.

If Freddy vs. Jason were more realistic in comparison to the previous movies from both series, once Freddy got into the real world, his fight with Jason would last no longer than 10 seconds. On the other side of the coin, Freddy could tear Jason apart fairly quickly in the dream world. Whoever had the home field advantage would win almost effortlessly.

Cool thread. I would have liked Freddy vs. Jason so much more had Jason not sucked all kinds of ass. I mean, really, falling to bits over a little water? Huh? That is so not my favorite movie killer. Pfft.

I am going to go with Jason takes Manhattan Jason because I would love to see him give Freddy one of those head losing punches. Then Freddy's head would still be talking and it would be hella funny.

Great post! The thought of Uber-Jason did cross my mind....but I don't see how Freddy would even have a chance there...it seemed too unfair, so to speak. Not to mention the fact that I am kinda foggy on the whole timeline between FREDDY VS JASON and JASON X.

Yeah, and what was up with that Freddy Fu being employed? It was weak I tell ya and the only reason it worked was because they stuck with that awful Zombie Jason, who just stands there and reacts soooooooo sloooooowly........ :sleepy:

And if I'm a Freddy fan, then I'm asking why Freddy didn't get more vicious in his dream world: Where was the Freddy snake? Where was the imagination? We wait a decade for this showdown and we end up getting Freddy playing pinball with Jason? Please.....

And I agree completely that if the characters had stayed true to form, then whomever would have gotten homefield first would have been the prohibitive favorite.....

Whatever. I guess they had to find something to get a weakness out of Jason, but I'm not buying it. Not after all those years of watching Jason waiting in the water for stupid girls who swim in lakes at night (never understood what the appeal of swimming naked in a nasty lake at night alone was)....or watching Jason march right into the drink to fight Tommy Jarvis in PART 6...or Jason swimming to the cruise ship in PART 8......and on and on and on........

Well you see, Jason only seems to be afraid of trickling water. He's okay with being submerged in a lake waiting for the skinnydipping bimbo. Perhaps he had some past problems with the plumbing in that shack of his. I mean think about it, if Jason has leaky pipes, who's he gonna call?

I'd have to say for Jason, the build of Part 7, the downright brutality of The Final Chapter, the speed and reaction time of Part 2 and 3, and the strength of Jason X.

For Freddy it would be an easy choice, New Nightmare. Nuff said.
