Whoa, this is great news. It appears that Charles Band isn't dead afterall! Bigger budget features on 35mm...it's about damn time!

Nice to see them back.
Still lots of Full Moon DVDs I need to get that I've never seen, like, Creepozoids.

Creepozoids was a few years before Full Moon released on the Urban Classics video, a subsidiary of Empire (pre-FM) ... well I guess it was kinda Full Moon after all :)

It's not all that great for a Sci-Fi/Horror movie honestly, but it's one of those "so bad it's good" films. It was the second film directed by David DeCoteau. It's worth it just to see Linnea Quigley and Kim McKamy, who would later to transform into porn star Ashlyn Gere. She was also in DeCoteau's directorial debut "Dreamaniac". Oddly she would not do nudity in any of the few "legit" movies she made before going into XXX. I guess she still likes doing horror movies though, she was in "Willard" last year.

The Creepozoids DVD is comparable to the old VHS, but with better picture quality. No extras to speak of besides some other Shadow/Full Moon trailers. Not bad for under $10 though.

Creepozoids I have on LD. I'm hoping to watch it this weekend. As for newer and bigger movies, I'll believe it when I see it. Full Moon does not have a solid history in this regard.

Also, why does this new site have the 'Full Moon' label on it? I thought they were operating as 'Shadow'. Oh well. I hope they do return, even if it's to a fraction of their former glory.

No clue, but the contact address is the same as the old Full Moon contact address. I think Charles Band started to use the 'Shadow" label to avoid debts or legal situations. Perhaps those problems have been rectified somehow.

I just saw a newer version of Creepazoids at Tower. It's not on that Cult video line as before. I wonder if the transfer is better now.

Yes. But when will Dollman be on dvd? This was my favorite film for years until I saw Midnight Run. Its fucking class. "That's about the size of it"

Huh... Cool. I'll give House of Pain a shot, but it's great to hear that Stuart Gordon's back.

S&H appears to be really cheap too.

The Paramount distribution deal still has the domestic rights to the earlier Full Moon movies, it might be worldwide rights...not positive about that. I heard the rights are supposed to expire in a year or so and go back to Charles Band. Maybe after that a lot of the early FM films will finally be re-released to DVD.

The trailer for "Puppet Master:Legacy" was 99% footage from all the other puppet master movies.

that's because the movie itself has about 95% of stock footage! lol

Yes, and if it was done legally is another story altogether. Remember that the Puppet Master DVD boxset was pulled from the market because it was released without consent from Paramount.

I really don't see why Full Moon wouldn't be able to use archive footage. That makes absolutely no sense. They aren't distributing the original movie. They are reusing footage in a new movie.

They also did it for Subspecies 4 - heard no complaints there. And I believe they did it for Puppet Master 6 too.

This is the problem with Full Moon and the Internet - way too many rumors spreading around due to crazy fans. I tried to talk to Paramount about this, but all they would tell me is the Full Moon situation is complicated.

They can probably use archival footage, but they can't actually release the full movies until the Paramount distribution deal expires. Charles Band has stated that much in interviews before, after the PM boxset fiasco. There were also some other Paramount-era DVD's that were pulled from the market as well. The Paramount deal is due to expire sometime very soon, then the rights revert back to Charles Band to do with as he pleases on whichever label moniker. It may even have already expired, and we'll see the re-release of many old titles sometime soon.

Puppet Master 6 used old footage from the previous films for the actual "Puppets". There was almost no new actual Puppet footage (maybe 5 to 10% newly shot) except for the new Decapitron. It's easily the worst film and the lowest budget in the series, produced only because certain powers that be requested yet another sequel.

Artisan also got in legal trouble for releasing a couple of old Full Moon movies, under the screwy Koch distribution deal. They re-released Subspecies 4 under a new name, and it was immediately pulled off shelves. This was probably because Charles Band sought legal action, or simply requested that it be pulled since FM already had a superior DVD version out. They also did this with a crappy release of Oblivion, which is now also out of print.
