This triple treat is out on January 27 from Troma and I'm soo picking it up. More 80's-cheese to the people I say! I saw this tidbit courtesy of the always excellent upcoming list over at Mondo Digital. I mean Blades, a Jaws-ripoff with a lawnmover, Blood Hook, a "horror fishing comedy" and Zombie Island Massace who's title I think speak for itself. Come on people, you gots to pick this up I's tells you! Check out the poster for Blood Hook, http://www.troma.com/posters/bloodhkpos.jpg, never before have the words "best poster ever" been uttered and been so true.

I remember these films from those late night Cinemax Troma marathons they ran during summers. Gotta buy this, the movies are so bad they're good!

The director of Blades was one of my professors in college!

This has been one of my best DVD pick ups of the year. It would be worth the price I paid for it for Blood Hook alone but Blades was surprisingly entertaining. The same cannot be said about Zombie Island Massacre. I hated this movie. The best of the three by far is Blood Hook. Why hasn't anyone made a sequel to this movie? The ending set it up perfectly for a sequel.

Probably because after the movie Jim Mallon found himself working on MST3K as both director and acting as Gypsy

That's true but I was wondering why no one else picked up on this idea unless he owns the rights to the movie and would not let anyone make a sequel.
By the way, how cool is it that you have an Edie Sedgwick link on your signature? She is proof that a little bit of drugs are good but a lot of drugs are bad, really bad.

I remember reading about ZOMBIE ISLAND MASSACRE in the last pages of Maltin's Movie Guide. I always loved the idea of lots of boobs and zombies (when I was 12) but I've heard endlessly bad things about the film.

Actually that clip is her acting...that's from cut scenes from Ciao! Manhattan (which contrary to popular belief was not her life story).
...and I'm not positive that it's her because Brigid Berlin did alot of Edie's ADR after her death (because she could do an uncanny impression).
