From DarkHorizons.com...

FREDDY VS. JASON 2 - Jeff Katz has done a 20-page internal treatment. It brings back the "Ash" (Bruce Campbell) character from the EVIL DEAD franchise. New Line is negotiating with CAA/Raimi to see if they can get him into this movie, with the then intent to do EVIL DEAD 4. Shannon & Swift won't be doing this.

I'm somewhat mixed on this news, considering I HATE Army of Darkness, but I'll go see the next Freddy and/or Jason movie no matter what it is or who's in it. :D

Sounds...interesting.? As long as Bruce Cambell's one liners are better than Freddy's I'm game. And unless its directed by Sam Raimi, it will be bullshit. But I'll watch it anyway. :D

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard... Freddy... Jason... and Ash... They always find ways to jam more nails into those coffins, eh.
Instead of wasting all that money on this shit, why don't they use it to make another Evil Dead movie... with JUST Ash!
But thats just me.

Surprise surprise. Milking yet another frachise. When will it ever stop? Oh, I forgot, it won't EVER stop. They gotta keep going until they murder the idea completely.

Here's a dumb question - I wonder who will "win"? :D

Or do you think they'll leave the end "open"? :D

I can't see Raimi going for this. I don't know...it just seems like an idea he'd very much be against.

one was bad enough. God help us all if some executive decides this is a good idea.

i could see this actually being okay, but i think bruce would have to carry this flick with both shoulders. and raimi should definitely direct.

No wonder they had to put Ash into the mix... if it was just Freddy and Jason it'd be the first film all over again! I mean, what more can they do with this already stale concept? Sure, Freddy Vs. Jason was fun but one was enough! :bs:

The chances of Raimi directing this, surely, are minus zero.

I'm a big fan of all three franchises and of the Freddy vs. Jason flick, but I don't see the need for a FvJ follow-up. \

I would like to see Evil Dead 4 however, though I seriously doubt it'll ever happen with Raimi off doing big budget Hollywood flicks these days.

I just want another Friday the 13th.
FvJ was a ANOES with a guest appearance by Jason.

That is pretty much what I thought too. I can't see him directing this or Evil Dead 4. I am not sure that I blame him either. I really think the first 3 Evil Dead movies are great, I don't want them to come along at this late date and muck them up.

That said, I can't pretend that more Ash isn't tempting. I am just not sure it is a very good idea. I don't want a Halloween Resurrection on the Evil Dead series damn it.

Bah.

Is there truly ANY doubt that Bruce couldn't carry this flick? I'll be first in line if he's in it....

FvJ was a ANOES with a guest appearance by Jason.

Yeah, it really did feel that way.

It's not an impossible movie because Campbell/Raimi/Talbert own the character rights to Ash, although they don't own the franchise. But if they're never going to bother making another good movie out of these three franchises, then why not let them have some fun?

Plus I don't think Raimi thinks himself too good to go back to horror, he's talked about doing an original horror movie after Spider-Man and his production company still produces them.

F vs. J was a bad idea that turned out pretty good, IMO. I'm really not sure a sequel would be a great idea though. Whatever they do, I'm sucker enough to go to the theaters to see it.

Freddy VS Jason took at least ten years of developmental hell to get to the big screen and the finished product was STILL awful.

"It's time to put this 'bad dog' to sleep.....for good!."

I couldn't agree more.

F v J gave the horror genre the big swift kick in the nuts that it deserved. I was glad and suprised that it did well in the box office. Making a sequal to it though is not very cool imo. What can they do with the continuing story like that??....Freddy got decapitated in the end for christ sake.

FvsJ was ok.. but i really could never see ash combined into that mix and make any sense what so ever...

sure i'd love to see ash again.. but i just really cant see them being able to do it and NOT screw it up.. but its very tempting..

either way IF they did make this movie i'm sure i'd go see it regardless

I think they should just throw The Tallman into the mix as well. that way we could also get more Reggie Bannister.

They should resurrect Abbot and Costello.

An all out horror icon brawl would be great.

Perhaps make it NewNightmare where it takes place in "the real world".

I wish horror movies would just stop being made for about 5 years so everyone can recover.

Well, no one should really take these movies seriously. They're fanservices.

Let's face it, the good actors for horror were Vincent Price, Chris Lee, Peter Cushing, Karloff, Lugosi and Chaney Jr (and that's just the talkies) Surely we can find room for them too? Lugosi sucked as Frankenstein, but he might be okay as Jason.

I have a feeling it won't be Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, but more like Freddy & Jason vs. Ash. What was so bad about the first Freddy vs. Jason? What did you expect? It baffles me when people who aren't fans of the Friday/Nightmare series saw the movie in the first place and then post about how they thought Freddy vs. Jason was terrible. What did you expect? It was made for fans of the series' - as the sequel will be. You really have to take these movies with a grain of salt.

I've always been a fan of both series, and absolutely LOVED FvJ. It was the most fun I've had seeing a movie since Jason X (ducks incoming projectiles :D ).
Not sure how I feel about throwing Ash in the mix though, but will go see whatever comes out of this. They selling tickets yet? :D

Thank you. :)

I've also noticed a lot of people who bash the Ash idea are the same ones saying "Just make another Nightmare or another Friday the 13th".

Well, pardon me if I'm wrong, but don't we have TEN solo Friday the 13th films and SEVEN Elm Streets? Yet, ONE team-up movie is too many?

Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash (though hopefully they'll change the title to something different) is something NONE of us have ever seen before. Yet, most of you want the same old thing again. I'm all for future Fridays and Elm Streets. I don't want Freddy and Jason to be a team act forever. But right now, at this point and time in each of their 'careers', this is the best thing for them.

FvsJvsA gives us something we've never seen before. Isn't that what movies are about in the first place? Escape. Things that aren't reality. Fun. And if there's one thing FvsJvsA would be, its FUN.

Despite what many have said, I certainly god a huge fanboy tingle out of 'Freddy vs Jason'. I mean, nobody really expected it to be a Canne Festival winner, did they? SO we got what we paid for...

I would really welcome a sequel, although I'm hesitant to add Ash to the mix, as I always enjoyed the Evil Dead movies alone.

Still, I'd certainly be interested in it.

When I saw FvsJ, I wasn't dissapointed, but I wasn't satisfied either. Sure I was very happy to see Freddy back in action, but the whole movie came off as very "Matrix corn ball" status. However what can you really expect these days when every movie is Matrix corn ball status. If it would have been made 9 years ago when the movie was first thought up, I think it would have been alot better.

Oh, this is kinda off topic, but I have a FvsJ wall ornament thats about a decade old. If anyone wants to see a pic of it, PM me.

I think that including Ash in FvJ part 2 could be fun if done well :D
