"Scream Queen Brinke Stevens (Witchouse 3: Demon Fire) is your host for this engaging look at the careers of nine actresses, from their first break to their journey inside an industry where they are often viewed as little more than window dressing – or worse yet, with no dressing at all! The females bare their souls with a focus on the fans, aging, on-screen nudity and the advent of the digital video feature, all revealed with rare footage, photographs and extensive film clips! Spend an hour with the beautiful sirens of B-movie cinema who have screamed their way through the last several decades of your favorite horror and cult films!"

Has anyone checked this out yet? I just placed an order for it (yeah, because Felissa Rose is in it :D ), so I will post my thoughts on it, when I get it in. I rarely make blind buys, but for under ten dollars, I'll take a chance.

I plan on ordering it soon. There are two versions of it, the single disc version and a double disc version which contains the "Shock Cinema" extra DVD.

Looks interesting, but I doubt it will be very long because many of these women haven't had long careers. :D

Gotta love Brinke though!

I finally got a copy of this in this weekend, and I was pleasently surprised by how informative and entertaining this was! Hosted by Brinke Stevens, this 65 minute documentary has interviews with, and movie clips from the following Scream Queens:

Ariauna Albright
Brandi Burkett
Debra DeLiso
Denice Duff
Judith O'Dea
Debbie Rochon
Felissa Rose
Lilith Stabs
Julie Strain

Extras: "Introducing....Lizzy Strain" (5 minutes)
Julia Wept short film, interviews and trailer (45 minutes)
Debbie Rochon 1986 student film (5 minutes)

Yeah, I know...nine actresses and only 65 minutes. However, STSA manages to get the most mileage out of its runtime and you'll be surprised at how much great information is squeezed out. The interviews touch on many great topics such as dealing with fans, fitting the "look" of the marketplace, getting into the field, dispelling the myth of "doing it for the money", battling ageing in a young woman's field, and many, many more topics that will give you a greater respect for what these Scream Queens actually go through.

The standout interviews here come from Julie Strain and Debbie Rochon, who are both surprisingly frank and informative in detailing their place in the genre of B-Movies. All the interviews in general have something to offer and this documentary went well beyond the superficial fluff that I was expecting. The only complaint: that it had to end so soon. Highly Recommended!

And you and that Felissa Rose would be a great couple. Just so you know.

See? And that's the exact same sentiment I've been telling the police and Felissa's lawyers all along! :(

I also got mine in the mail about a week ago. It's a very nice DVD set, i especially if you buy the 2-DVD "Double Feature" set with the bonus Shock Cinema DVD.

The bonus Shock Cinema DVD has a vintage 1990 program featuring interviews with Charles Band, Scott Spiegel, J.R. Bookwalter, Fred Olen Ray, Jeff Burr, etc... It runs at close to 2 hours.

Then it's a no-brainer, as Julie has some of the most memorable soundbites from the documentary: very blunt and honest in her responses.

If you haven't checked it out yet, and if you can RENT it (because the movie itself truly sucks), the dvd for Heavy Metal 2000 has a featurette on Julie Strain called "Super Goddess" that is worth a look.

Coming away from the documentary, I was really impressed with Debbie Rochon. I have never seen her work, but she comes across very well. There's a sneak preview clip of her performance in Nowhere Man, and I was really impressed with her scene! I'll definitely be checking Nowhere Man when it is finally released.

Debbie Rochon is a good actress, but she acts in just about anything. That includes really, really terrible movies. She's been in something like 100+ movies thus far, and perhaps 10 are even worth mentioning.

I actually won this movie in a Fangoria contest and let me say that I'm happy I got it for free because I would not have been happy if I had paid for it. Overall its a decent look at the horror industry and some of the actresses who are in these movies. My complaint is that its just slightly over an hour long and some of the "stars" of this DVD aren't exactly big names even by those who follow horror closely. I would rent it if you were curious about what its like being a horror actress but its' not great by any means. Speaking of similar films has anyone ever seen a documentary called Some Nudity Required? It's supposed to be about the same subjuct only its better.
