After seeing the new "Dawn of the Dead", where does it rank in your zombie faves?

Can't say I didn't enjoy the new DAWN, but it still pales a bit to some of the victim-turns-undead "zombie" films I've seen. Here's how I rank it:

Your crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got back from watching it and I have to say: I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything about this movie was so much better then the original. The new release is by far my top 5 favs!!! Hurry up DVD!!! I want it now.

I rate it 10 out of 10 stars. Its that fuckin good!!

My list is similar to the others. I would put Dawn '04 probably 9 or 10. Only because of the fast movement.

No Evil Dead or Dead Alive on the lists?

I totally forgot about Dead Alive, and i don't consider Evil dead a zombie movie, although I should if I put Demons on there. If Evil Dead was on there it would place at 3rd.

I agree more with Demons, because it is pretty relentless in tone. I'm going to add Resident Evilright now...forgot that one too.

Glad everyone seemed to like the remake. I thought it was tits myself! It would be in my top 10 zombie movies no doubt. I liked it a lot better than Day of the Dead and Night 90. Viva Zach Snyder!

The new Dawn is nowhere near my top 10, the film was pretty bad. :sleepy:
Also I don't consider the Evil Dead or Demons films to be zombie films because well.... they're not zombies they're demons. ;) And i also didn't include 28 Days Later becuase it's just people filled with rage. :)

Yeah, Demons shouldn't be considered, but did anyone even have Dawn of the Mummy cross their minds while making their respective lists up? Yeah, yeah, I know: they're MUMMIES! But, for all intensive purposes it's a zombie film, no?

Not that Dawn of the Mummy would ultimately make any "good" list of films anyway.....

I didn't include DAWN '2004 on my list - I won't be seeing it. Something about fast-moving zombies doesn't click with me. Return of the Living Dead addressed this nicely: the living dead are slowly decaying - their joints don't work properly, they lumber and stumble and even though their slow - in great numbers they can be unexpectedly powerful. That's what I like about the zombies in the movies above. They outnumber the (sometimes) well armed humans and STILL do some serious damage since they are often underestimated. Fast-moving zombies come across as stunt men with make-up on and the running, chases, ect. are expected. It becomes "action" and not "scary". I like to squirm in my seat as the more traditional slow-moving zombies inch toward their victims who are trying to escape or are cornered and have to defend themselves. I love it when Romero's zombies attack while a person is pre-occuppied with something (Roger trying to hotwire the truck and he's attacked while in a comprimising position).

Decent movie, but I doubt it would crack my top 10 either.
Then again, I haven't seen every zombie I probably should've yet.
