What do you think? Looks too red, but looks scary I guess.

I think it sucks, to be honest with you. Still isn't as bad as their Conquest cover though.

I think its awful, but the film is an underrated favorite, and there's no way I'll be passing it up.

Horrible looking cover...but I'll still be buying it just to have the movie on DVD.

The artwork itself isn't too bad, but yeah, someone overdosed on the red. Should be a great DVD regardless!

Terrible art...but I'm dying to see this film. Bob Clark is kinda cool.

I think I kind of love it.
Why? Is that supposed to be Bruce Campbell on the cover? .... I kid.

i can see it sorta being scary.. it needs to lose the monty python colouring scheme though, it gives it makes it too cheesy. But then again i aint seen the movie so maybe thats the intention?

I agree that cover art is weak. It reminds me of Willy Wonka for some odd reason. Luckily, I don't judge movies by their cover art.

I really want to see this, but that cover art is certainly off-putting.

That cover does suck. What did the old VHS artwork look like? Or the movie poster? (if one exists)

I don't like the cover art but once it's in my DVD shelf it won't matter.

I actually LOVE the DEATHDREAM cover though I feel it sort of misrepresents the film, which is more of a quiet, intimate work than balls-out slaughterthon. Still, it definitely blows away any of the video release covers I've seen.
I love the CONQUEST cover, too. It was taken from an amazingly rare piece of Ghana artwork for the film. I agree it's cheesy, but for the film it's certainly fitting.

that cover is horrible but this is a movie I have been dying to have for awhile so I will disregard the cover and buy it.

And that Driller Killer review (http://www.dvdmaniacs.net/Reviews/A-D/driller_killer.html) there is interesting too.

I already have this dvd. Both the dvd and the film are awesome. Deathdream confirms Bob Clark (Black Christmas) as one of the most under-appreciated horror directors.
The film is based on The Monkey's Paw tale, but ventures beyond the zombie, and indeed, the horror spectrum. As such, the characters and themes play a much greater role in this one. All the actors give outstanding performances. Clark's direction (some great shots) and Savini's make-up effects are effectively creepy, as is the score by Carl Zittrer.
