Yup, Tobe Hooper's The Mangler will hit DVD August 17th from New Line. Also arriving the same day is The Guyver: Director's Cut and The Guyver 2. All three films will be presented in Anamorphic Widescreen and DD 5.1 tracks (The Mangler also includes DTS).
Extras include Trailers only. The Mangler DVD also features unrated/alternate scenes that allow the viewer to compare the theatrical version side-by-side with the alternate scenes.

The Mangler is awsome. I love that movie and can't wait. I really enjoyed the guyver 1,2 also. I will be picking all 3 of these up and I can't wait.

Stay away from Mangler 2 though. It has nothing to do with the original and might be considered the worst horror movie ever.

I saw The Mangler 2 on tv. Lance really needs a comeback before its too late.

Mangler 2 = what the fuck? horrible movie.

I'll be buying the first for two reasons, it's a Stephen King adaptation and it's directed by Tobe Hooper.

Its about damn time The Mangler and The Guyver films hit DVD! As many around here know, all three films are major favorites of mine, and I'll definitely be picking them up. I was hoping New Line would include these films if they released another August horror line like last year, and am very pleased that they are! It'll be great to finally retire my videos of these three. Color me annoyed that there won't be any extras though, as given the material and people involved, there could be a good bit for all three of these films.

Anyone know how The Mangler differs from the short story?

Yeah, I read that too. I wonder why New Line isn't just releasing the dvd unrated. I have the unrated VHS that they put out a few years ago and some of the scenes are pretty damn graphic.

hopefully they release this the way they did with Jason Goes To Hell or Leatherface. maybe the info is just a little incorrect.

I'll probably pick up THE MANGLER for Tobe Hooper and THE GUYVER for Jeffrey Combs... Haven't heard too many good things about Hooper's film, but then again I love so much of his early work that I think I owe this one a shot...

watched the unrated vhs again recently on my new sony dvd recorder/vhs in 1080p and it looks pretty amazing for a vhs tape. anyway i liked it alot more and too bad* newline dropped the ball with not releasing the unrated version. it is kinda strange when newline released leatherface tcm II,jason goes to hell and poison ivy with the option to choose unrated/rated versions to watch on their dvd releae also samething can be said for lawnmower man which i want badly the director's cut on dvd.

One of the only times where I actually kept my old unrated VHS and sold the crappy DVD. Even though it includes those scenes as deleted scenes, the movie itself works so much better in the director's original cut for the film.

Guess it's pretty much time to give up hope for this ever coming out unrated on dvd. Next time I find it for about 3 bucks, I'll just finally pick it up.
