What'cha all think? Yah or Nah?
Poster: http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/Images/MoviePics/s/seedofchucky.jpg
Tagline: Seed of Chucky introduces Glen (voiced by The Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd), the orphan doll offspring of the irrepressible devilish-doll-come-to-life Chucky (again voiced by series star Brad Dourif) and his equally twisted bride Tiffany (again voiced by Jennifer Tilly). When production starts on a movie detailing the urban legend of his parents' lethal exploits, Glen heads for Hollywood where he brings his bloodthirsty parents back from the dead. The family dynamics are far from perfect as Chucky and Tiffany go Hollywood and get rolling on a new spree of murderous mayhem - much to gentle Glen's horror. Chucky can't believe that his child doesn't want to walk in his murdering footsteps, and star-struck Tiffany can't believe that the movie will star her favorite actress, Jennifer Tilly (playing herself), who soon becomes an unwitting hostess to this new family in more ways than one…
Hip-hop superstar Redman (How High) will co-star (also playing himself) as a rapper-turned-director casting a movie in which Ms. Tilly is desperate to star. Notorious filmmaker John Waters will appear as a sleazy tabloid paparazzo.

Bride of Chucky was the best Chucky movie since the original so I'm looking forward to this one...
Yes, I am a sucker and will be checking this one out. :D

How original, a horror movie with a "rap superstar" in it....I'll pass.

eww shitty ass rap, man why can't they get some Metal stars in horror movies, lets see Lemmy in a horror movie, that would be great!!

Brilliant news that this film's actually being made - at one point, it looked like the hope of a sequel had been dashed.
I'll be purchasing the DVD....

will see it when it comes to DVD. seems like it could be good  But I'm tired to see rap stars in horror movies. I hate rap music with a passion!!! :fuck:

Excited to see this... but that rap crap actor crap... blehh.
Yeah, I wish they'd find real actors rather than rappers, models and people from tired reality shows.
It's an annoying trend which I hope dies a painful death.

Count me in as another viewer tired of these no talent rappers taking parts away from real actors. Busta Rhymes ruined Halloween Resurrection and i'm sure Redman will do the same with Seed of Chucky. Wonder how many times he'll say "muthafucka"??
Not expecting much since Ronnie Yu has nothing to do with it, but i'll check it out on dvd.

I'm looking forward to this more than anything else this year. Also redmans pretty funny actually. I wouldn't say hes a good actor but could make a pretty funny fucked up director.

I see this as being a pretty funny movie...it will be more self aware humor than most shitty horror sequels. I'll probably see it in the theater.

Saw a new preview for this today on Access Hollywood or one of those shitty talk show things. Pretty funny stuff. Britney Spears gettin run off the road by Chucky... John Waters cameo... :) Cannot wait for this flick. :) :)
Oh, forgot to add... the faces of chucky and tiffany look digital. That bugs me, still wanna see this but that bugs me. Its either digital or Yagher's FX team have really really got there puppeteering down pat!

I hate how the series was turned into a joke. I thought the first movie was quite creepy and effective. The series has taken a huge turn when you compare the first entry, to these new ones...

I disagree I think the first one is the worst of the series. 3 is my favorite then part 2, then bride. They are all good. Its strange how my favorite is part 3 when its the one most people hate. I can't wait for this one its going to be awsome.

I love part 2 the most, then the original. Part 3 and Bride of Chucky pretty much tie third place for me. The original could have been #1 with me,but it moved a bit slow compared to 2 and 3. I guess because it was the first it needed more time to develope characters etc. Still it is the only one thats scary, but the others had high camp and humor that I prefered for the kind of movie Chucky is.
The first one is very different from the last film that was made, which is probably why these new sequels work. Not everyone wants to see the same film getting made over and over. Bride of chucky was mostly smart and funny, sure at the expense of any tension or terror. But I liked it. It was a loving tribute to bride of frankenstein.
Part 3 was pretty awful and seemed like a rushed production (it followed closely on the heels of the success of part 2) The story wasn't thought out very carefully and seemed like more of the same business. I haven't seen it since it came out so maybe i'll give it another try after seeing seed of chucky.

Damn, your good girl. Lemmy's been around, even did a small stint as bassist in the great punk band, The Damned!

My work is having an employee screening for this on Thursday. Can't be any worse than our last crew night (in which they played Catwoman) and if it gets really bad I can just make my way over to the food table.

Damn she looks good, but not sure about the movie. I wanna see it so far, but this makes me nervous.
Back on track, me and the GF will bump up Chucky's opening weekend take for sure. This looks just as fun as Bride at least. I haven't seen the first 3 in forever, but Bride is a favorite. Need to quit waiting for SE dvds of the first ones I guess, or just rent em.

Saw the preview for this and it looks hilarious. However, I agree Redman sucks!! Why has the genre been infested with these no talent (c)rap 'artists'. Busta 'whoopie goldberg' Rhymes completely fucked up Halloween Resurrection for me. :(

So who saw this tonight?
I'm pissed... the movie theatre here, it has like 10 screens in it... 10 different movies... not one of them is playing this and they don't even have it listed for future play times, like next week or anything. WTF???
Whoever saw it... I kinda hate you right now. :) :) :)

It was pretty enjoyable. Much more comedic than all the others.

i seen it tonight and liked it a lot. nothing too great, but is very enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of the Child's Play series, but the last two flims have been quite good.

I thought this was very funny. John Waters was great, especially in the scene outside Jennifer Tilly's house. I'm not sure if I liked this more than Bride of Chucky, but it's still a lot of fun. Some great references in there, too. I'd recommend it.

I saw this yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I'd probably say it's better than Bride because it's got gorier deaths and no annoying kids to get under your skin. I also thought Billy Boyd did a good job as Glen.

Saw it with LOW expectations and I had a blast... Pretty gory and it was very funny very often. Much better than BRIDE OF CHUCKY, although now I want to give that one another look after having seen this new one. Definitely recommended... 3/5

Sweet!!!!!
I saw it and enjoyed it quite a bit. I went in with no expectations. It's been years since I've seen Bride, but I recall liking it. Seed was a blast. Lots of fun all around. Chuck was fantastic in this one.
Not really a spoiler, but just in case ...
I loved when Chucky and Tiffany were putting the kid to bed. Tiffany is telling him to relax; that there was nothing to worry about. Standing beside her was Chucky with this crazed look on his face and a holding a knife in his hand. It was a great scene.
I think I'll probably pickup the Chucky box set. Shame on MGM for not giving the original some more respect.

I'd pick up that Chucky Box Set myself but Part 3 is completely worthless, in my opinion.
I'll stick with the first two on DVD.
Part 3 is worthless, but considering the price of the box, there's no reason not to get it. Plus, I'd give Part 3 another spin just for the hell for it.

return of the living dead special edition loaded with extra features because of how they have sold well as bare bones editions

The scenes where all three dolls are interacting with each other were wonderfully done, and reminded me of a lot of the PUPPET MASTER movies. Sigh... any chance we'll see those released on DVD any time soon? :(
