Does anyone remember these films? I remember renting Silent Scream a long time ago and liking it.
I saw Night Warning in the theatre last year but I also saw it when it first came out as Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker. Good flick.
Are these films available on DVD anywhere?

I love Silent Scream as you can see by my name. It's an underrated slasher starring Barbara Steele, Yvonne De Carlo and Cameron Mitchell. It's one of my favorites that rarely gets mentioned here. Silent Scream is not on DVD but hopefully Anchor Bay or Blue Underground get this title in the near future.

Silent Scream is on my "must have" list after I read about it online. Any time you have a movie with Barbara Steele as a crazy woman living in an attic, I'm there. It also has Yvonne De Carlo and Cameron Mitchell, two veterans of horror in it. Has anyone seen this movie and do you recommend it? I've heard it's good.

Silent Scream is owned by Code Red for life, but I think they're just licensing to Scorpion. Sucks that it'll not be Region 0 but 1, but hey, it's coming to DVD just the same. Yay! :)

Silent Sceam is a great horror gem. I remember when the late Gene Siskel used to slam slasher films on a weekly basis on his film review program with Roger Ebert. Silent Scream was one film that he thought was blatant trash and despised with all of his might. That made me want to see it all the more and I loved it. Yvonne DeCarlo was terrific.

Err...what? She's raped for about 25 mins. They prolong it to the point where it becomes overtly degrading. Yeah sure she gets them back but it's certainly not a film about female empowerment.

We shall agree to disagree then. ;)
I saw it as a woman who could have simply gone to the police and run off from the lake, but in the end, she made sure that they could never hurt another again. Thought it was strong in the will, even if I don't care for the flick too much.

Night Warning is my number one Code Red movie. I must have it. Hehe, but rest assured. It'll be out. Sooner or later. They're spent too much to let it slide, haha. Plus it's like The Dead Pit and Nightmare...guaranteed profit. As has been said on multiple sites, Night Warning is a winner.

I remember the TV spots but was never taken to see this. The first time I saw this was the week of Thanksgiving in 1983 - I was out of school with chicken pox and the folks would bring something from the video store each night (one movie for me and one for them).
The tape wasn't rewound so I watched the very last minute before the credits then the complete film. The ending wasn't a surprise, but I liked the twist.

I'd also love to see a nice DVD of The Dorm that Dripped Blood.
I always found The Dorm That dripped Blood really cheap looking and un-cinematic. But it does disappoint certain genre expectations in a cool way with its ending.

We have an update of the Night Warning (A.K.A Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker) DVD from our pals at Code Red!:
http://codereddvdblog.blogspot.com/
"An overdue update on our upcoming DVD release of BUTCHER BAKER, NIGHTMARE MAKER! Jimmy McNichol dropped by to give us an audio commentary and also an on-camera interview. Jimmy talked about his memories of the shoot, what he is doing now, and his possible comeback in the music scene. Our brand new HD transfer of the film was done from the original camera negatives. We chose the camera negatives since the two IPs we had both had scratch/line on all the reels. The transfer looks great and the extras are done. Sorry for the delay on this release, but it's definitely coming soon so please be patient just a little bit longer!"

My guess is because of Thanksgiving that week. I suppose they wanna give retailers an extra day to sell their product since most of them will be closed on that Thursday. It may also be to prepare for BF. Basically, just to be sure that they have the new releases in stock to sell along with their discounted items.
In this list, you'll see that Silent Scream isn't the only new release coming out on the 23rd. Most of the "major" titles have a release date of 11/23 as well.

I watched this one last night and enjoyed it. The cinematography, cast, and score are definitely well above normal slasher standards. And Steele and De Carlo are so good that I can forgive the actors playing Peter and Mason (both atrocious!).
Did anyone else get the impression that the director saw a few Hitchcock flicks? I thought a lot of the camera work was very reminiscent of Hitchcock in general and Psycho in particular.
This was a blind buy for me. I'm glad I picked it up.

Yeah, he mentioned Hitchcock as a big influence in the audio interviews on the disc.
I watched it the other night. Really nice transfer, and the 5.1 mix was surprisingly solid. The extras are certainly plentiful. All in all, a great disc!
