I didn't know Raimi had anything to do with it, but I still feel pretty ambivalent towards it. It looks just like JU-ON with American actors substituted for the Japanese ones, and since it's the same director it could have a similarly creepy feel. But at the same time, I am not a SMG fan.

Yeah I dont know if this is a good role for SMG I'm not a big fan either. But the trailer looked good. I still wanna see the original first

the original is good, i think this remake, even with Shimizu directing it, is a bad idea. and I hate SMG as well. same went for Ringu, the original was kick ass and the remake was lame. but how else is Hollywood going to capitalize on better filmmaking than ripping it off from foreign countries!

Thanks for the link, DDM! I can't really judge from the trailer, but it didn't seem so bad.

I am a huge fan of the Japanese ones, especially the first movie, so I am hyped about this remake. I will check it out no matter what, even if I don't really care for the cast.

I mean, in a worst case senerio, the remake will suck and I will still have the awesome Japanese version. No loss to me.

I love the four Japanese Ju-ons, my favorite being the very first of the four, followed by The Grudge. I was not at all pleased when I heard Gellar had been cast in this remake. I don't like her at all, and she is so wrong for this type of film. Now that I've seen the trailer, it looks all the worse. :rolleyes:
