THRILLER A CRUEL PICTURE: The gruesome Swedish revenge thriller that was an inspiration for Quentin Tarantino's KILL BILL is coming to DVD. Previously released Stateside in a heavily cut version titled THEY CALL HER ONE EYE, the saga of a young woman (Christina Lindberg) brutally avenging her rape, the gouging out of one of her eyes and assorted other indignities will be presented on Synapse's disc in a new 16x9 anamorphic transfer (1.78:1) from original vault materials, uncut and uncensored with all the sex and gore restored. Both Swedish-language (with removable English subtitles) and English dub tracks will be offered, and the extras include:
- Extensive still galleries of rare behind-the-scenes photos, including many candid nude shots of Lindberg on the set
- Alternate harbor fight sequence reconstructed from rare vault materials
- THRILLER: A CRUEL LAB MISTAKE: Rare photos detailing an unused fight sequence ruined by the film lab during production
- THRILLER: "The Story in Pictures"
- Outtakes
- Original TV spot and theatrical trailers
- Actor/Director Filmographies
The disc will be a limited edition of 25,000 copies; the street date is September 28, with a retail price of $29.95. (thanks to Fangoria.com)

I really want this film, too. Joe Bob talked about it in his I Spit commentary and it sounds great.

Just letting you know that they put Thriller up a few days ago, and I thought, were only taking pre-orders. Xploited is a great shop, but how are they allowed to ship a movie more than 3 weeks before its intended release date? :fire:

They can ship it for the same reason that a lot of people have bought this disc at conventions: it's finished and Synapse is distributing it themselves.

im probably wrong but i though Ryko was distributing??That's what I thought too, but when I picked it up from Synapse's table at a convention they said that they were selling it simply because it was done and they were distributing it on their own. Maybe it is being distributed by Ryko and Synapse just packaged it up? I don't know the specifics, but the DVD is done and has been available so I see no reason to believe that Xploited wouldn't have it.

Any diffs at all? There is only one DVD, and the cover says THRILLER: A CRUEL PICTURE. THEY CALL HER ONE EYE was the American title for a different version of the same film back when it was originally released.

I've got this and Massacre In Dinosaur Valley on the way from Xploited.
Synapse has a proven track record of quality releases and I'm sure it will continue with Thriller.

I ordered 2 copies of this from Xploited on Friday. Shipping priority so since it is a holiday weekend I expect to get them on Tuesday. Ordered the second one for a friend of mine. Of all the DVD e-tailers that I've dealt with, Xploited has always been my favorite.
