What is this? DVDEmpire has the ME in stock, but also has a listing for the new ME?

at that price is it a one disc version?

Maybe it's a single disc version? Who knows.
Maybe they're just repricing it or something. I remember awhile ago there were two Dressed to Kills on DDD, one with the original price and one with the newly marked down price.

MrGrim is correct. The original, two-disc ME of Re-Animator has received a price drop to $19.99 MSRP. It's shown in an ad in this months Rue Morgue "with prices that are cut, slashed, chopped & sliced". Oh, and if the photo in the ad is any indication, the spine color has been changed from bright green w/ black logo to the other way around.
EDIT: Sorry MrGrim, I got you crossed with mcchrist. Please don't hate me... :(

Well I'm happy to hear about the drop in price on the two-disc ME of Re-Animator. It's one of my favorite movies but I am cheap and will not pay over $20 for a DVD unless it is incredibly obscure. Maybe now I can finally open up my wallet and grab it.

That is a great price for a great film. I had to sell my old copy and got more for it than what it is going for now. Maybe I just might pick it up again.

No, I think it's just a price drop. I too read about either in the Rue Morgue magazine or Fangoria. I'm glad that this disc is getting a price drop, now I finally can get this cult classic and add it to my dvd collection.

Yep, it's only a price drop. What more could they possibly pack on two discs? Amazing DVD set.

Glad I didn't pick this one up before, but I'll probably end up getting it at Horrorfind to have Combs and Crampton sign it, so the price drop probably won't affect me. :(

I saw that magazine in the local Borders last night, and I believe 'I Spit on Your Grave: ME' has a price drop as well.

I paid $50 CAD for this ..... oh well. Sometimes when I'm craving to own a film (and I want it that very minute) I just ignore the price and indulge. Really is a shame though, coulda saved $30 or so .....

look on the bright side...maybe the re-release doesn't have the embossed cover...
I only paid $12 US plus some burned discs for mine

This mean the ME of Night of the Living Dead will get a price drop too?

Re-Animator was worth the $20-22 to me, so I had no problem picking it up a while ago.
