hmmm?
8===D
It is on Blue Underground future release list. Assuming you're referring to the 1983 cartoon right? I've been on the lookout for this for some time now.

There is one, but you have to look for it... and while it has nothing to do with the movie, it just might make you laugh.

 Wouldn't It Be Great If We All Started Typing That Way?
Is Fire and Ice really that good?I mean I watched the trailer and I love Fantasy but this didn't look too good to me.Not good enough to buy this set.
But perhaps some screenshots might convince me....

Very cool!!!
But I too have never seen this one. Is it worth the cash as a blind buy? What's the mood of the film? For Bakashi, it looks more LORD OF THE RINGS than HEAVY TRAFFIC.
Please, feel free to write a review!

It's definitely more LotR than Heavy Traffic and while not quite as good as Bakshi's 'Wizards' (one of my all time favorite movies), it is still a good watch for those who dig animated fantasy. But the extras are the deal maker here. A Bakshi commentary and a Frazetta documentary? With interviews with Frazetta, Bernie Wrightson, Dave Stevens and William Stout? We're talking comic and fantasy art legends here, some of my favorite illustrators ever, and throwing in John Milius and Bakshi is icing on the cake. I'm so there.

I've never even seen this movie, but the cover art is sweet and if BU is putting it out, thats a good sign. I love Bakshi's flicks and if this is more LOTR than Heavy Traffic I'm sure I'll love it. The animation doesnt suck or anything, right?

Blue Underground's DVD is definitely a feast for the eyes; I couldn't believe the color levels for a 20 year old independent cartoon. They always do good work, but FIRE & ICE may have just replaced VENUS IN FURS as my favorite disc from them this year. (Of course, it's probably going to be dethroned in a week or two by the Blind Dead Collection, but that's not the point...)

Hmm, I got an e-mail from DDD the other day announcing pre-orders for this baby, but I'd never heard of it before so I deleted the e-mail and went on my merry way. Now I'm actually interested in checking this out. The screen caps look pretty damn good too.

I'd agree with Bruce, in terms of presentation and features, it is one of the best discs that BU has put out. I wasn't quite as blown away with the film itself, but it does have its merits. Here's a review for all that are interested:

That will be soon to come, but I should at least try to review this one (http://imdb.com/title/tt0465462/) first, for obvious reasons.

In case anyone is interested... Best Buy stores will carry the 2-disc set on sale for $24.99 and it will have an on-pack trading cards exclusive. Minimum 3 per store.

I still can't get over the fact that you gave this a "C". That's rediculous. Rhett you write good reviews and thus your opinion is greatly taken into consideration when it comes to films I haven't seen before. But I have seen this one many times, and it deserves far better than a "C" in my books. Did you consider the time it came from? To me it stands the test of time, but the fact that it came from 1983 just blows me away.

Does anyone know when the 1 disc version comes out? I'd like to watch this one, but not for $22. As much as I admire the artist's work, I don't need the documentary on him. ;)

It does deserve better than a C. If you look back to the review I actually responded to your statement and ammended my letter grade. I don't really like the letter grade system, I am used to stars, so it sometimes isn't representative. I hoped you understood why I had issues from my review though, since a grade is only a letter. It's a passionate film, I'm definitely happy to have it...I just wish Bakshi would have went further.

I think the single disc may have been cancelled, or at least for awhile. It's disappeared from their site and most online stores. They may have decided to wait awhile and re-release it as a single disc at a later date, as they did with some of their other limited edition titles. The documentary is great though, you might want to reconsider.
My local Best Buy didn't even get any in stock, even though they listed the damn thing in their weekly circular! So, I go to Hastings and luckily someone had forgotten to put out on the shelves the only one they had got in stock. And it was only $19.99 there! I think I can live without those exclusive trading cards...if BB even gets the damn thing in stock that is!
The 3-D lenticular cover looks really cool indeed... it's basically the same as they used on the Final Countdown L.E., except that it's a slip-sleeve cover that the double-keepcase slides out of.
It appears that BU has done an excellent job on the set, kudos to 'em.
