Okay Hammer fans! Carl and I have authored a petition of our very own, addressing MGM to release on dvd the several Hammer films they own video rights to. The petition centers on Twins of Evil, a favorite of both mine and Carl's, but includes these classics as well...
Hands of the Ripper
The Quatermass Experiment
The Hound of the Baskervilles
Ten Seconds to Hell
The Vampire Lovers
Countess Dracula
Vampire Circus

Please show your support by clicking on the banner and signing.

Thanks!

Thanks mutleyhyde for the great work and rhett for being one of the first to sign! MGM has some great films that will probably remain unreleased without everyone's help.

It's all in the line on duty my friends. Thanks for the kind words and support. And thanks to Carl for the GREAT banner! I wanted to add it to my signature over at HTF and DVDTalk, but they don't allow HTML in their sigs. Bastids!! :( Oh well.

I signed it over the weekend. In a post over at Mobius', someone says that they think Twins, Countess Dracula and Vampire Circus are owned by Artisan and not MGM. Is this true? Have we ever heard anything from MGM about them? I seem to remember them looking into the rights on some of these but never heard anything else.

Yeah, MGM said that they would look into it, only after being hounded all night about Hammer. Never heard about Artisan. If that's true, we can expect decnt transfers, but zilcho extras. Artisan doesn't like to pay for shit.

Just checked and it's still going strong, just passed 450! :) Mutley, what's the latest, did you send it off? I'm really curious to see how MGM might respond to Twins and the other films with possible rights questions.

Carl! Good to hear from ya. I been basically sittin on this, waiting for 500. I been lobbyin pretty good again for it the past few days at HTF. After Sept. 11th, I just kinda let it go, but now we've got 20 sigs in just the past two days, so maybe we'll get up to 500 soon.

I have signed this petition months ago.
I would love to see these classics on DVD.
Thanks for your effort Mutleyhyde

Well, I guess this inches me closer to getting off my duff to get an all region player. What shall prevail? My immense laziness, or my frustration over MGM not getting these in the mix?

And Yowie, petitions pay off. :D
