As you seem to enjoy Argento,check out OPERA and CAT O'NINE TAILS.Im a fan of DePalma's early flick SISTERS.THE PROWLER is a fun entry into the 80s era slashers.If you can handle subtitles try BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF.Another recent one a lot of my friends seem to like is MAY.Oh,you listed some martial arts stuff,check out Sonny Chiba in THE STREET FIGHTER (no relatoin to the Van Damme flick),he's totally heartless.

this statement may be true, but all of the asian horror I've seen either relies on gore shock tactics (Guniea Pig? Lame...) for scares or mtv editing stlyed faggotry (Ichi the Killer being of prime example). I've yet to see a jap horror flick with a decent unsettling atmosphere.

Pick it up. It's probably $10 or less. I enjoy them both. WM1 is best. Robert Englund has a part in it. Kane Hodder, Tony Todd, Ted Raimi also. Angus Scrimm narrates the beginning.

That makes about as much sence as a Japanese person watching August Underground and Kill Bill and coming to the conclusion that all American films suck. I think you need to watch a few more of them before you dismiss an entire nation worth of films. Especially one that many horror fans in North America and around the world regard as being the leading nation at the moment of producing horror films
