I noticed this is up for pre-order at dvdempire, but I could have swore it has already came out from a different distributor. Is this DVD any good? I hear it isnt 16x9. Any opinions?

pre-order? I rented it weeks ago, so maybe it is from a different distributor. More likely dvdempire has it screwed up in the listings.

I liked the movie. It was made on a budget of under $100,000, but works quite well with it.

I saw this at Borders the other day and almost picked it up. The fact of it not being anamorphic turned me off though and ultimately put it back on the shelf.

This was shockingly available for rent at blockbuster (as much as I hate the corporate mentality, I have to admit that they have gotten in some interesting independent releases in the past year). I more or less enjoyed this one, although the constant screaming and whining of the main character gets old. It is well worth a rental, though. I wouldn't buy it.

I just rented this film on Wed. from Hollywood Video using their "MVP" deal.
I really didn't like the film or the director's short films which are included on the dvd. The movie was boring and the main character is unlikable because he is such a wuss and won't defend himself, I mean, he could have just pushed away that old lady and her anorexic "neice" throughout the entire movie and wheeled himself away from them (he's in a wheelchair)
The movie is well made however (it's a Japanese film filmed for roughly $100.0000 American dollars) The dvd cover says that this film is gory and destined to become an underground cult classic in the same vein as Evil Dead II, Cemetary Man, and Dead Alive. They also called it the Japanese Chainsaw Massacre.
I didn't like it and felt cheated-because it ain't anything like the cover says. Don't bother.

WOW thats a pretty interesting comparison, considering from what I gather the film takes place in one house......
