Slumber Party/Sorority House Massacre?

I've been bored lately and want a slasher cheapie. All 4 (I think) of these are like $9, so I wanted to know which two to get. From what I've read, Slumber Party Massacre and Sorority House Massacre II are the ones to get, but any opinions? Oh yeah, they do have lots of nudity right? No bull shit underwear :D.

Slumber Party Massacre is a decent slasher movie, and it has what you are looking for :)

As for Sorority House Massace, avoid it. There is a bit of nudity, but the movie is strictly amateur and derivative of Halloween. At only 74 minutes this movie still seems long and boring.

Haven't seen any of the sequels, but if some of you guys recommend them I will be sure to check them out!

Either Slumber Party 2 or Sorority 2 (whichever one doesn't have that guy with the guitar/drill on the front, that one blows) is the best of the bunch. It has the better looking girls of all of them, and is pretty fun to watch. All the girls get naked, take extended showers, and then get murdered. Pretty funny indeed.

The drill guitar is Slumber Party Massacre 3, and it is the worst of the 3. All the rest are fairly fun, and about the same.

its not on dvd, but if you can find the Invisible Maniac on vhs, you should get that instead. so much better than any of the Slumber Party or Sorority House movies.

LOL -- I remember Invisible Maniac... hilarious stuff. I still have an old copy of it from late night Cinemax or Showtime in the 80s.

I've seen all these movies.

Slumber Party Massacre- Fun, gory slasher film, lots of nudity.
SPM2- wierd, electrick guitar driller killer, I still liked it thought, hated the ending, lots of gore, not so much nudity.
SPM3-Best of the lot, gory as hell, a bit of nudity and lots of fun.
Sorority House Massacre- Compleat Halloween rip off, it's only OK.
SHM2- a little better but not by much, still fun.

if you're looking for a semi-serious slasher film, go for all of them but SP2. If you want something to watch with your friends when your drunk, definately get Slumber 2.

My favorite is Sorority 2. There's that really hot british girl in it. I love that girl. I wish I could remember her name. I own the bastard but I can't remember where I put it. Dammit.

There is actully a third Sorority movie intitled HARD TO DIE, it never made DVD cause it didn't have massacre in it.

I have read somewhere that the 74 minutes New Concord DVD of "Sorority House Massacre" is cut (just like the Slumber Party Massacre 2 DVD). The U.K. DVD is said to be cut as well. The U.K. and German VHS ( retitled "Death House") are said to be the only uncut versions (PAL running time 86:07 minutes) .
Does anyone know what is actually missing?

the only one out of these that was uncut was slumber party 3. the back of the case says R but its uncut.

Horrorbid.com (http://www.horrorbid.com/blog/blog1.php/2010/02/05/slumber-party-massacre-dvd-series-gettin) is reporting that the Slumber Party Massacre series is being released with special editions in October. When Shout Factory announced the Roger Corman deal these were the movies I wanted the most as the current DVD's are OOP and in fullscreen. Maybe these new releases will be uncut.

I've got a custom of that I downloaded. How can you not love a low-budget cheesefest with dead porn stars (Savannah) and a mad professor? Everyone should try to track this down in one form or another (all that's out there are vhs and torrents from the vhs).

Having not seen all the Massacre movies I can't say this is better. I can say it's better than any of the Massacre movies I have seen (Soroity 1, Slumber 1 and either Slum 2 or 3.). Maybe not a better made movie, but much nore fun and enjoyable. Maniac cracked me up, the others bored me.

According to ofdb.com the New Concord DVD was "re-edited"
Mostly dialogue was trimmed for whatever reason.
The US Warner tape is supposed to contain the unedited version as well.

I'm stoked about the upcoming re-releases. It sounds like they will be great releases, and I'll pre-order all of 'em as soon as they appear on Amazon.

Slumber Party Massacre II easily ranks up there in my top ten. I've seen it so many times over the years that it's now imprinted on my retina. :evil:
