Found this giallo over at dvd.it (http://www.dvd.it/page/dett/froms/Y/arti/212311/il_profumo_della_signora_in_nero_collector_s_editi on.html)
Heard some good things about the film.
It's on my wishlist now!!
Luckily I can get it a bit cheaper (€14 for shipping is stoopid!) at Cinecity (http://www.cinecityplanet.com/E_art_2952.html) here in Holland :)

Yup, it looks cool. I've been waiting for Xploited to get it in stock, which should be pretty soon since Raro shipped some to those who ordered it directly from them. Let us know if you pick it up soon.

A quote from the Darkdreams forum:

My copy of this arrived this morning. I've only had a chance to watch a few minutes of it, but I can confirm that this is a splendid transfer and one which puts a number of the other Eurocult labels to shame.

Oooh, this is so going to be mine!!

Balls! I've still yet to watch it. Tonight is GTA and Bridge On The River Kwai, so I'm hoping for Thursday.

Anybody watch it yet? Very curious about this one.

Sorry, I got this one and watched it about a week ago. The first thing I noticed and what continued to impress me throughout the film was how beautifully photographed it is (I'm sure the DVD's transfer helps this too--it looks great). The story moves along fairly slowly, so if you find yourself disinterested it may not work out well. There are several plot elements that weave through the main narrative fairly well and add a unique touch. I'm not really sure what else to say other than I ended up enjoying everything quite a bit more than I was expecting to. It's a well-shot film with a great score and an ending that gives a little "food for thought."

I hear that its very non-linear and dream-like. Is that so?

Many scenes are dream-like but it's very linear, assuming you are able to separate certain elements. I don't want to give much away, but if you do not care...[minor spoilers]...if you can separate between true reality and the reality of the protagonist's mind, which is not very difficult in this film IMO, everything is pretty straightforward except for the ending, which requires a bit of interpretation.

Awesome stuff and a excellent presentation by Raro Video. A must have in any Euro-Horror collection!

Can someone tell me how the Score is on this? What does it compare to etc...I am thinking about picking up the soundtrack but it's a blind buy.

Lets revive this thread for the upcoming R1 releae.

I just rewatched the movie again yesterday and I have to say, I understand it a bit better now. It's basically what Andrew said in one of the earlier posts.
About two thirds into the movie all things that happen, happen inside Sylvia's head.
And the ending? It's not that far fetched at all if you just pay attention :D
Also, watch the interview. It'll clear up some things.

Great film, even when there's not so much happening.

Discuss....

PS: Perhaps a moderator can change the thread title and leave out the "R2 PAL" bit?

I didn't even realize that this was getting a R1 dvd release. I really dig this film. I'm happy with the R2 dvd but hopefully more folks will be able to see this soon.

It's one of the first Raro US releases. The PAL DVD is fine though.

The audio has been worked on for the US disc. Not sure about the image.

I don't know if it ever has been mentioned before, but the waltz theme in this movie (when Sylvia is acting as a kid) partly resembles Komeda's Rosemary's Baby theme.
