God damn it. Originality is dead in Hollywood. It really is. I see a grim future for cinema.

The trailer for the new AMITYVILLE actually looks damn good, so there is reason to believe that Family Room Entertainment can do the same with this TERROR TRAIN remake. The original TRAIN, like PROM NIGHT, was fun and flawed, a classic example of the golden age of the slasher film. I say better to remake something that could definitely be improved upon than to try redoing a classic like PSYCHO or HALLOWEEN. I think it could have potential.

Dug this up before remaking a remake thread.

By the way, I still think The Amityville Horror remake was one of the worst remakes ever. Just giggling when I see the words of excitement in earlier posts prior to the Spring 2005 release.

Some updated official word from Bloody-Disgusting on the Terror Train remake:

Set up over three years ago at Maverick Films, the remake of the 1980 slasher film Terror Train is now boarding over to Nu Image, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Elsinger was originally slated to pen the remake, but now writer-director Gideon Raff (The Killing Floor) is set to write and director it. The film will revolve around a group of American college athletes who find themselves on a dangerous train in Europe. The film, to be produced by Boaz Davidson, Danny Lerner and Les Weldon, will shoot in the summer in Bulgaria. The original starred scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis.

I wonder if they'll bring in David Copperfield again. Or some updated version of him. A remake like this might need a touch of magic to work! :P

This Americans en route to Europe thing seems very Hostelesque to me. I'm guessing this'll be one of those über-violent "horror-porn" films and will have little to do with the original. Which is just fine, in my opinion. They should just leave the original as it is.

I just hope someone will release a widescreen edition of the original alongside this one. I can't force myself to buy the fullscreen DVD! :(

The R1 DVD is in widescreen, looks very good and is cheap. You should pick it up! :D

Agreed. So other than people dying on a train, what will be the connection to the original Terror Train in this remake?

Anything from Nu-Image is scary and that's not in a good way. I'm kinda shocked that Nora Birch is involved with this remake. Well, maybe not... Don't waste your $ on this remake, folks. This shit will be on the SCI-FI channel in no time.
