it's a sad day guys just read this info over at excite news :

NEW YORK (AP) - Ossie Davis, the imposing, unshakable actor who championed racial justice on stage, on screen and in real life, often in tandem with his wife, Ruby Dee, has died. He was 87.

Davis was found dead Friday in his hotel room in Miami Beach, Fla., according to officials there. He was making a film called "Retirement," said Arminda Thomas, who works in his office in suburban New Rochelle and confirmed the death.

Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said Davis' grandson called shortly before 7 a.m. when Davis would not open the door to his room at the Shore Club Hotel. Davis was found dead and there does not appear to be any foul play, Hernandez said.

can't someone figure out a way for the great actors to suck the life out of those shitty actors that we don't need like Freddie Prinze Jr.? :(

Are you sure that he's passed on, as it says nowhere on the internet that this great actor even died.

tens of thousands (if not more) of people die daily...it's a given that actors are included in that equation.

Not Ossie, this really does make me sad today. One of my favorite African American actors and by far one of the best ever to walk on the screen, this man was a brillient actor and will be sadly missed - R.I.P Ossie Davis

Loved him as "Chuck" from 1993's Grumpy Old Men. All of the grumpy old men are gone. :( Burgess Meredith ("Grandpa "Pop" Gustafson") died September 9, 1997 from Alzheimer's disease, Walter Matthau ("Max Goldman") died July 1, 2000 from a heart attack, Jack Lemmon ("John Gustafson") died June 27, 2001 from cancer, and now Ossie Davis.

Thank you. I was waiting for someone to mention his fight for equal rights.

Screw Bubba Ho Tep, a man who spoke at the funerals of both Malcom X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. died yesterday.
