Anyone seen this one? I see it in my local Borders all the time and the synopsis on the back seems interesting, but I've just resisted picking it up for whatever reason. It doen't seem as well-known and the other "living dead" movies, so I was wondering if any of you guys had some info on it?

EDIT: For those of you like me who haven't seen the movie, here is the synopsis:

In an abandoned prison, a doctor has revived executed convicts as the living dead. Teenager Scott Schwartz (A Christmas Story) creates a weapon from a videodisc player's laser and pursues the walking dead, aided by his girlfriend and grandfather (western star Bob Allen).

A reporter (Robert Deveau) on the trail of the story is helped by the town librarian, played in her final film role by Zita Johann (Boris Karloff's "The Mummy," "The Sin of Nora Moran").

On the prison island, the zombies attack a security guard and tear him apart as the reporter and teenager venture into the prison caverns for a final showdown.

It's the Brett Piper movie correct? It's an awful movie, there are two version of it, the producer bought some unfinished movie and re-edited it with new stuff. This part is fascinating if you are a movie business dork. This is a DVD that's good for the extras, and the movie itself is kind of a moot point. I don't know if that made any sense.

I liked the version where the kid invents a laser-gun.

I saw this one years ago and really can't remember too much about it, but it was pretty bad. Brett Piper write it and did the special effects. It was his first effort on both counts, and I really like his later work so it's excusable. I still might pick it up someday if I can find it cheaper.

3 versions of this movie though? Man, this movie must have been a mess.
