I found it to be mediocre at best and Christopher Lee's performance is one of his worst. I recommend that you watch Antonio Margheriti’s gothic horror masterpiece Castle of Blood which was released by Synapse on DVD a while back.

You can buy the DVD for $5.99 (http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=MBI003259) now at Deep Discount DVD. I bought it awhile back and it's not too bad of a film, just nothing really exceptional.

I liked it quite a bit. It had a great atmosphere and the sets and story were impressive as well. Definitely worth $5.99.

Wow, just watched this for the first time, and I must say, I enjoyed it very much. Oh sure, you can pick holes in it pretty easily, but if you simply go along with the flow and accept it's not a perfect film, there's quite a bit to like.
It's all about the settings really, and the atmosphere. They seem to have concentrated on this above and beyond storyline, and even performances (although the dubbing didn't help convince in that regard).
However, I couldn't help but adore the execution. It's a odd film in every way, but it totally worked for me. I rate this one quite highly - very good for those with an open mind.

Nice little flick this one.
Great atmosphere.Margheriti is no Maestro but he's a solid director.
I have yet to see a movie of his I didn't like.
