Seve Notes in Black is excellent. One of Fulci's most under-rated films. In my humble opinion his best giallo. I have a VHS under the US title, The Psychic.

Trying to decide between this and your vice is a locked door and only i have the key and the midnight killer"Your Vice..." is an upcoming release from NoShame so I think you should wait for that one.
As for those other two,my choice would go to Seven Notes In Black.
How is Alfa Digital's reputation?Thought they were a bootleg company?
And there was also rumor that Image would release this movie or something.

According to DVD Aficionado the Alfa Digital (Luminous Film Wurks) releases are "Unauthorized".
Only a few listed there though, but you get the point.
Perhaps someone else could spread a light on this?

Hmm... Alfa Digital is definitely a bootleg company... Quality is not always there. Damn it says 2.35:1 aspect ratio???
I only have the french dvd and it's only 1.85 : 1!
Anyway, it's one of my favorite Fulci's for sure...

2.35:1 aspect ratio is ultra widescreen... Like on Zombi 2, The Beyond, Suspiria...
1.85 : 1 is not as wide like on City of the Living Dead... or Inferno.

Some info on aspect ratios can be found HERE (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/anamorphic/aspectratios/widescreenorama.html).
And here it is to simplify it:

The Alfa Digital Seven Notes in Black is not framed at 2.35:1 as originally reported. It is framed at the aspect ratio of about 1.85:1 and Xploited cinema now on their site list it in this ratio: http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/dvds.asp?title=4703

Ok, so it was just a mistake from xploited website...
It's probably a bootleg of the french dvd (which is 1.85:1) with added english audio... (Like they did with the spanish Black Belly of the Tarantula dvd I think) The french dvd looks really great so this bootleg is probably worth picking up if you don't want to wait for an official release!

Alfa Digital releases are always of good quality - bootlegs or not. There are many bootleg companies here in Greece that release unauthorised cult films but their image is great and they are for 3 to 9 euros maximum - why should I not buy them?

I just had to know.
From Xploited:
hi!
i'm not sure if they're unauthorized as they come from brazil. sometimes
brazilin dvds seem to be a bit of a problem, but until i know for sure they
are not legit we'll carry them. if they are not legit then we will stop
carrying them.
let me know if you have other questions.
thanks!

The soundtrack for The Beyond are partly used in Manhattan baby too! :D
And i´m pretty sure that Alfa Digital are bootlegs, got my info from a guy who has pretty good insight in the business.
According to him Luminous and Alfa Digital are the same company.
