I ordered this dvd off the net the other night. The specs stated it was Fullscreen. I figured since it was DTV, FS would probably be correct. Anyway, got the dvd today and checked out the box and it says "16:9 Full Screen Version" & "FULLSCREEN VERSION: Formatted from its original version to fit your screen. Enhanced for 16:9 television."

Ok, the wording on the box really confused the fuck out of me. What in the hell are they smoking at Artisan? anyway, i went to check out the dvd, and wouldn't you know, it's 1.78:1 anamorphic! what's up with the oddball wording on the case? why not just say "1.78 anamorphic" or something? I guess it would be "fullscreen" on widescreen tvs, ie fills up the entire screen on those sets.

kind of answered your own question there.

well if that's the case, this is the only instance i ever read on a cover that referred to fullscreen version for widescreen sets rather than the typical 4:3 sets.

This is so weird. I am watching the same fucking movie right now, and when I put it in I automatically thought "hmm Artisan, non anamorphic" and picked up my remote to change the format, and lo and behold when it came on I was shocked to see it was anamorphic. Deja vu.

They did it on their first Stir of Echoes release as well...it's an Artisan thing.

you know, i went browsing through the "reviews" on this site to find such a review, but i didn't come across it. i guess since the review hasn't been "updated" to fit the new style of the site, it's not listed among the others.
