I was just thinking that I don't remember seeing the same film more then twice in the theatre. I know there must be some of you who have dished out to seen the same film multiple times. so If they're any of you who have seen a film more then twice at the theatres, which were they and how many times did you go see it?

Terminator, 3 or 4 times.
Other than that, never more than twice, and only Sin City got twice at first run (The Two Towers did as well, but first one was free so it doesn't count).

I remember when I was a kid I forced my mother to take me to see Return of the Jedi about 3 or 4 times.

I'm sure I've seen perhaps a few films twice (which I can't recall), but no more than twice in theaters.

I have never gone to a see a movie in theatres more than once. Its just too damn expensive. Ten dollars is way to much to pay to rewatch a movie. I think its even to much to pay to see it a first tme. This is why I rarely go to theatres anymore. I just wait till they come out on DVD.

There used to be this theater in a small town about 20 minutes from my home town that ran first run movies at $1 admission on weeknights...me and a friend pretty much went there every night in high school, so I ended up seeing Hellraiser II and Halloween 4 about 7 times each.
The only movies have seen more than once in theaters recently have been all three of the Lord of the Rings movies, The Bourne Identity (and Supremecy), and The Last Samurai.

In the Line of Fire 2 times
Friday the 13th Part 7 2 times
Star Wars 2 times
Octopussy 2 times

Star Wars Episode I - 7 Times
Star Wars Episode II - 7 Times
Freddy vs. Jason - 7 Times

For some reason, I always end up stopping at 7.

The most would have to be Rocky Horror, which back in the day, we used to see every single weekend. I must have seen it in the theater over 300 times. Of course, I worked at a movie theater then, so it was usually free.

I can't get over that "4-time" hump, which I did for:

Star Wars
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Pulp Fiction

There's also the unique case of seeing a movie twice the SAME DAY, which happened for
Kill Bill Volume 1
(I ended up seeing that one 3 times total)

some of my "doubles" include
Ghostbusters
Fright Night
Kill Bill Volume 2
Reservoir Dogs
A Tale of Two Sisters (even though I already owned the DVD!)
Day of the Dead (actually, I think I did see that one 3 times)
Creepshow
Andy Warhol's Frankenstein (in 3-D both times!)
The Lollipop Girls in Hard Candy (um...that one is 3-D, too....)

Alien Redrum

New Jack City - 12 times.

I can't say I did it alone, I had friends. We went to every Friday and Saturday midnight showing for almost two months.

And, for those of you in the DC area, I saw it at the Andrew's Manor $1 theater down by Andrew's Airforce Base.

1. Sin City- 4 times
2. Dawn of the Dead (remake)- 3 times
3. Passion of the Christ- 3 times (I was dragged to the second and third showings by parents and short fling, respictively.)

Then there's a shitload I've seen twice which I'm too lazy to list.

BloodMan
05-17-2005, 08:21 PM
Fellowship of the Ring - 3 times
Two Towers - 2 times
Return of the King - 2 times
Sin City - 2 times
Dawn of the Dead remake - 2 times
Can't remeber what else, I know there is more.

Wow! I actually never seen New Jack City. Is it any good? :D

Titanic (3x ... I was kinda forced the second and third time)
Aliens (3x ... must be a Cameron thing!)
Gremlins & Fright Night, twice. There is more but I'm too lazy to list em all.

I saw quite a few horror movies more than once at the drive in. The only movies I have seen more than once at a multiplex are Star Wars (original of course) 2 times and Rocky Horror (I have a hard time remembering how many times I saw it after all those props hit me in the head)

I have never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show, despite several attempts by a crush back in high school to take me to a midnight show many times.

*puts on his "I Be Idiot" cap*

I think the only reason that I haven't rented TRHPS on dvd is because, gulp, I'm still saving my virginity for that one magical midnight theater that will have me someday.

I need a moment. Type amongst yourselves.

I actually mailed studios in support of the movie at the time, because they'd been threatening not to release it, the bastards.

I always feel guilty if I watch a movie more than once at home, let alone when I am paying at the theater. There are so many movies out there, I just feel like I am limiting my experience when I see the same one repeatedly. That said, I've seen some movies in theaters twice that I can remember. The list is small, but this is basically it:

Sin City
Kill Bill, Vol. 2
Titanic

There are very few movies that I have seen more than once at the theaters. All are very recent. There may be more than this that I just can't remember but here goes a little list:

Sideways (2)
Million Dollar Baby (3)
Fever Pitch (2)

I saw WILD AT HEART on the big screen 5 times back in my high school days. I took a date the first time, my best friend the second time, and went by myself the last 3 times because no one else was interested.
That's the big stand-out for me. Other than that: working in movie theaters is hard to count since I didn't really "sit down" and watch from beginning to end, but I watched multiple films multiple times if you add all of the pieces together.

More vintage pleasures:
Halloween II - twice
Nightmare on Elm Street - 4 times
April Fools Day - 3 Times
Terror in the Aisles - 3 Times
Friday the 13th part 2 - 2 times
Friday the 13th part 3 - 3 times (2 of those we snuck in without paying and used our own 3-D glasses with the "Friday" logo)
The Howling - 2 times
Star Wars - around 8 times

I saw Star Wars Episode I 3 times i think. All my friends wanted to go see it at different times...
I think I saw The Matrix 3 times.

those are the only 2 I can think of. I don't see many movies multiple times any more because they're too expensive and we don't go to see as many movies as we used to.

I've never gone to a theatre to see a movie more than TWICE. My list isn't very long at all, and since I'm child of the 80's, most of 'em were around that time:

The Goonies
Return of The Living Dead
Nightmare On Elm Street 3
Nightmare On Elm Street 4

and don't laugh, but I saw Disney's Aladdin twice in theatres and it was on TWO seperate dates that wanted to go see the blasted movie! Not a bad movie by any means, but a teenager seeing a toon twice in theatres smells of "pansy" to me. Still at least the panties dropped afterward both times. :)

EXCELLENT!
Other than watching movies like Man About Dog and The Incredibles multiple times while working, the only movies I went to see twice that I can think of were,
Dunston Checks In and Baby's Day Out. Two of the finest comedies the nineties has to offer.

As a kid, my brother and I went to see Grease (go ahead, laugh) and just sat in our seats after the movie finished and watched it again.

I also saw Predator during it's regular theatrical run, then a few months later it came to our college for the weekly movie night so we went to see it again. I love Predator but I've got to say it's way more fun when you're watching it with two hundred stoners.

 Some teeny boppers got all hot after seeing Aladdin? For some reason that is cracking me up right now.

I reckon it was more of the "romance" factor! I don't think there was anything else romantic (worth seeing) in theatres at the time Aladdin was out.

Yeah, it does sound funny don't it?...well don't forget, in the original edit Aladdin whispers "good kids, take off your clothes".

Star Wars Ep 2 - 3 times. That's the most i've ever seen a movie, though there are a few movies i've seen twice. SW2 would have only been twice, but i had the change to see it digitally, so i went with that (and was definately worth it!).

i worked at a theater while pulp fiction was in wide release, just for the multiple screenings. i quit when the movie left (replaced by "jerky boys"...go figure), however...at that point i was up to 23 complete screenings of the film.

only thing that holds a candle to that record in my book is rocky horror...and yes, rocky-virgins...hold out!! i saw rocky my first time in a theater, and jesus...there is just no comparison!!! though i do recommend having the dvd handy the next day so you can actually hear the movie for your second time...
