Ok, I waited years for see Jean Rollin's work, and recently i bought two of his films. "Night of the Hunted" and "The Demoniacs". Wow. What an INCREDIBLE waste of my money. REALLY! does anyone have any suggestions of his work that i might enjoy? i was MONUMENTALLY disapointed in these films.

I have read on this forum, his ZOMBIE LAKE is well worth a look :D

ive seen a movie called "Virgin Among the Living Dead" that has pieces of "Zombie Lake" supposedly edited into it. very bad. The only reason i saw it was because the band My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult uses some samples from it.

I'm not a big fan of Rollin's work, but I wholeheartedly recommend The Living Dead Girl. It's a beautiful and haunting film.

Stay away from Zombie Lake!

Living Dead Girl is a great film!

You recommended Zombie Lake? I hope you're kidding. LOL. I'll second Living Dead Girl. But Zombie Lake? You might want to throw in Ed Wood's Orgy of the Dead while you're at it.;) Although I'd probably throw in Franco's Female Vampire.

La Morte Vivante is a masterpiece, truly haunting.
Also check out Grapes Of Death - in the same poetical vein.

Try to see The Demoniacs like a fairytale... (I am not saying that it is a great movie, just check it out that way if you like).

that is basically how i did see it. however, even down to the costuming which at times looked like the castaways from disneys "pirates of the caribean", it just didnt work for me.

Try Fascination, Requiem For A Vampire, Lips Of Blood or The Living Dead Girl. The Demoniacs is a long way from being his best.

There's no doubt that Rollin's films are not to everyone's taste, and it seems he's in the Love/Hate mould - bit like Jess Franco.
Give it another try, because his films are, IMO, worth it.

of course there is the infamous Lost In New York that Image has had on hold for a long while as well as a few more films "soon?" to be released by redemption
