Hmm, Don't know about that one, seems suspicious to me.

I checked the search engines and didn't find any information about this being released on dvd. I really would like to see this film after reading about it. It sounds interesting. I think it's a bootleg. I didn't see any barcode on the front or back of the cover. Plus the regional information is missing except for an ALL.

You would think that a Fulci fan site would have mentioned this disc. If this was an official dvd to be released, I would imagine it will get released eventually. Personaly I would use my money on something else for now. This is just too suspicious.

i think it is a bootleg and some poor sucker is going to find that out pretty soon 52.00 ouch

09-19-2001, 12:08 PM
Hmm. I have done a bit of searching about, and can not locate anything on this company or title. Was it ever released on LD?

Irrespective of whether it's legit or not, I doubt any sort of quality...

ended at $76 bucks. DAMN!

09-24-2001, 10:50 PM
I bet another one will pop up in a few days

09-24-2001, 11:38 PM
$76. What a joke. You know, everyone looses in a transaction like this. I sold a collection of rare books on ebay once, andwas asking A$100 (about US$50), and they eventually reached $1700. And the fuckhead who bought them said they weren't in such great condition, and gave me a bad rating. Fuck that made me mad. Like it was my fault he was such a shithead. I was only wanting $100 for the damn things. If he wanted to pay 17 times that, he's a fucking numb-nut.

So my point is, the guy who paid $76 for this disc is going to be pissed that it WILL be a shite transfer, probably give the sellar a bad rating, and noone will be happy.

thats why you should do your home work when it comes to buying things on ebay

09-25-2001, 04:57 AM
you live, you learn. hahahahaha

Keep watching the sellers feedback and see what kind of feedback he gets.

I'm making theese discs... with my MIND!!!

BTW, although I of course acknowledge that many sellers don't - if you're selling anything on EBay that's in less than very good condition, you really ought to mention that in the description, regardless of your starting bid price.
But for $1700, I could stand to be a little offended and get a critical rating. ;)

09-30-2001, 06:56 PM
it says in the description its a "hong kong import " but if it was legit im sure shacking images or luminus and the like would be selling it and as was pointed out earlier there is no barcode and the sleeve ???????????????????????

I found some posts by the person who was selling the original version in the Lucio Fulci forum over at http://www.tiac.net/users/amadeus/tombofdvd.html (Tomb of DVD) He said he found it at "His favorite video shop". Said he picked up two copies and put one up on ebay, keeping the other for himself. Then there were many posts by various readers who were bidding on it, until it got out of their price range. And the person who found it is a regular there, so who knows, maybe it is legit. Or at least the people selling it are not trying to rip others off.

well shit! it sounds legit but not worth 50-70+.00

What is really fucked up is that Toxic Avenger 4 bootleg VHS is 75 bucks at Troma.com... As much as I love troma... I got to say... They are stupid fuckers.

10-01-2001, 08:54 PM
Wait a minute, are you actually telling me that they are selling a bootleg of their own unreleased film for $75. What the fuck is up with that?

10-02-2001, 12:14 AM
Yes it is true. Troma is selling a bootleg of it's own film. They did this for Tromeo and Juliet, and Terror Firmer. Six months later the dvd came out. So I guess we can expect Citizen Toxie in five to six months from now.

OK, guys, just got this in the Chainsaw.nl newsletter:

Hong Kong DVD of Lucio Fulci's violent spaghetti western. Two brothers
confront a cruel maniac who controls a little town. Starring Franco Nero
and George Hilton in a widescreen version. Comes with trailers and a photo
gallery. NTSC regionfree.
75 NLG

10-06-2001, 08:26 PM
Hong Kong DVD eh, maybe the price isn't too out of this world after all.

10-06-2001, 09:44 PM
72 bucks is steep

10-07-2001, 03:36 AM
Hmm...I still say they burned DVDs off a bootleg VHS and made the poster gallery by taking pics of posters with a digital camera, then just printed up the DVD sleeve with a PC and slipped them into the jewel cases. Then just shrink wrap it.

These days, it's stunningly easy to make bootlegs.

10-07-2001, 05:08 AM
I read that there is a massacre time ld so that might be the sorce for the transfer but who realy knows but yeah it sound pretty easy to make a low class dvd bootleg

SkinnyPuppy6: Where did you get it? And how's the quality? I am very curious about this title and would like to add it to my collection, but I'd like to know a little about the disc before making the purchase.

this is what Ive heard about it so far:..............."The full widescreen print is just a tad soft, not as bad as your typical sell-thru VHS, but obviously once-removed from a sharp master. There is a bit of grain and wear on the print, but I find I kind of like that at times, especially on spaghetti westerns. The English soundtrack & sound is bright and strong."and "It has a widescreen US trailer under the title THE BRUTE AND THE BEASTS, a European trailer (fullscreen, under the title TIEMPO DE MASSACRE), and best of all, a poster gallery with no less than 45 posters, lobby cards from around the world, and pressbook-type advertisments, all onscreen for about 5 seconds each as the title theme plays. As I mentioned before, the 2.35:1 print looks a tad worn but very colorful and 90% sharp!"........................................I just cut and pasted thows from some dude that has the disc so I'm not sure how it realy looks but the 24.99 I think is good price cause I'm a fan of Fulci and Nero(westerns)
