WOW!! 6 Discs!! and an 186 Minute Uncut version....I heard a rumour (I can't remember where) that some of the scenes cut were some lesbian scenes. Anyone else know about the uncut version. More specifically what the extra scenes are??
I didn't realize this movie was so popular! Still tempted to check it out though.

Holy shit!! I like this flick and all (the only Whispering Corridors film I DO like), but I could think of MANY other better films deserving of a 6 disc special edition (even so, that's friggin' excessive for any single movie). I will admit I like the HD disc included, and the director's cut intrigues me, although I have to suppose it drags like hell. Ah, what am I complaining about?? I'll probably buy the damn thing :eek2:

there's a thread about it here (http://www.koreanfilm.org/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=2910&mesg_id=2910&page=)
and it's available at DVDfromKorea (http://www.dvdfromkorea.com/) for $34.99 US.
Sounds like it might only have english subs on the first disc though. :(

Too bad about the lack of English subs! I guess I will just check this out when the R1 disc hits. That DVDfromKorea site you posted has this for really cheap it seems, I'm going to have to keep them in mind for future use.
You can view more pics of this set here (http://www.dvdasian.com/cgi-bin/dvdasian/18709.html)

and for people outside the U.S./Canada:here (http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-1003971657/code-k/section-videos/) for $49.99 US (but they say it's free worldwide shipping).

Oh man, I'm torn now. Without subs, thoe extras discs are worthless to me. I appreciate the collectability of the set, but what'S the point if I can't watch them? I think I'll save some money and stick with the R1 release to be honest. Pity, if the longer version had had subs, I'd have gotten that set.

Hell, I've never seen this and haven't heard much about it other than that it's supposedly pretty good, but I can't say I could pay that much on a blind buy. Does anyone know if the uncut film will be included on the region 1 release? I doubt it, but just wondering. That looks to be a lot of time cut from the film, amazing it actually makes sense in it's theatrical cut.

The R1 is the shorter cut. I've never seen a release that hs the long cut on it before.

From what I've read, this is the only release to ever include the uncut version. Apparently even the director wanted it cut down to it's theatrical version. I figure they just shot a lot of footage and this is just the version they had before they went into the editing room. I may pick it up just because I don't have the region 1 and I've always been a sucker for watching the deleted scenes from a movie. Also curious to see the short films. Anyway if I do pick it up, I'll let you guys know the full details.

I haven't seen it yet but hope to soon. I can't imagine it would be good enough to justify a 6 disk set. Come to think of it I don't think any film justifies a 6 disk set. Well maybe Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo:)

6 discs is pretty insane ain't it? But my interest has been piqued and now I really wanna check it out. Maybe I'm just really bored or something? Ah well, it'd look sexy on my shelf. :)

Still too bad I'd have no use for 5 discs since I can't understand Korean. I'd still probably watch the uncut version once after watching the theatrical cut a few times.

Well maybe Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo:)
FYI: There is a 4-disc "Breakin Collection" box set coming from MGM in August which will include, BREAKIN', BREAKIN' 2, BEAT STREET, and "bonus disc" (no news as to what it will include yet). I think this will be as close as you're going to come to what you desire.
My only complaint: What, they couldn't get the rights to KRUSH GROOVE?
6 discs seems like almost too much but just note one disc is a music CD and another is a CD-ROM, so you are only getting 4 DVDs. 2 DVDs are movies and 2 are extras.

and a spiffy box and a booklet too. and one of those extras discs has 3 short movies.
Now if only I spoke Korean. :(

So has anyone actually purchased this set. It's calling me but I just can't get myself to fork out $50 for a film I would categorized as "pretty good". No matter how tempting they make it.

Unfortunately I had to pass on it as I have no money. I should be getting a small raise in pay soon so maybe I'll celebrate by picking this up. Anyone else seen/bought it yet?

I just checked out DVDfromKorea (http://www.dvdfromkorea.com/) and they have this listed for $24.14 US. Of course it's out of stock atm but I put in an e-mail so they'd let me know when/if it becomes available again.

Is it just me or do none of the links work in this thread? I am really interested in finding this movie.
