Has anyone seen this little flick? I bought it on a blind buy (it was only 4 £ on amazon.co.uk) because it stars Jill Whitlow :D and Jason Lively from Night of the Creeps plus it was directed by Ronald Emmerich. I liked his first puppet movie Making Contact, so I thought why not. Has anyone seen it? There seem to be two (full screen) releases, one from Image and a R2 one from Prism Entertainment. The R2 one has much nicer cover art though.
So what are your thoughts about this?

I've always enjoyed the film. I probably first saw it on VHS in the late 1980's, most likely because Jill Whitlow was in it! It's a fun little film that doesn't take itself all too seriously, and very 80's.
I bought the R1 DVD a few years ago, and well...it sucks. The picture quality is okay I suppose, but the damn thing is Pan & Scan when it should be in 2.35:1. I don't think a good widescreen version even exists for home use. If it does, I'd be very interested in obtaining it.
Here's the R1 cover, which they milked Emmerich every inch on:

Is the region two in widescreen?
God I loved Jill Whitlow. I was watching some old episodes of "Silver Spoons" and she shows up in a bikini in one. Good stuff.

the region 2 is also in fullscreen.
Yeah, Jill was great. Whatever happened to her? What's she doing now? Does anybody know?

Well, I gave this a spin the other night. It's really a bizarre little flick, reminds me a lot of Emmerich's other puppet-movie: Making Contact. It just has a weird story-line and tends to be boring in some parts and very interesting in others.
Of course, it took me a while longer than the actual running time to sit this one through because I kept rewinding Jill Whitlow's scenes :D
The quality of this version is great, but it's 4:3 and it can be very bothersome in some scenes. For example, there's a scene in the car where Jill says something to Jason Lively and while she's talking you can only see the person sitting next to her on the left and the back of her head. Also, the audio isn't that good. Sometimes it's hard to understand what they're saying. Btw, great soundtrack.
The disc itself looks pretty nifty though. Here's a pic

And great preformance by Paul Gleason, that guy was born to play an asshole
