Normally, I would be geeked for this news, as I loved the original, but the three words "Direct to Video" are a joy killer to me. :(

They should just leave this flick alone. :( I mean... look what happened to Alligator. :) That sequel hurts the first flick.

This is one of my favorite guilty-pleasure flicks. I'm sure a DTV sequel is going to suck, but what the hell..... I'll give it a shot.

I am sure when it comes out on dvd the retail price will be extremely high $20+, then drop down to the $10 range where it should have started at to begin with. Direct to video should start out at $10 to $15 to begin with in my opinion.

I'll watch it even though it will be terrible. The original one was a fun little movie that I've watched quite a few times over the years. Great cast, some excellent one-liners, Bettie White in a very not Rose kind of role, and of course the cutie Bridget Fonda....So here's hoping they can pull it off again.

I'm surprised Brigette Fonda isn't in this DTV sequel. It would be a stepup for her career. The last time most people have seen her was Kiss of the Dragon. I watched it recently and couldnt stand her acting. Anyway I hate DTV sequels and this kind of pissed me off :/

I wish Fox would re-release the first one with an anamorphic transfer instead.

Yeah Kiss of The Dragon wasn't a very good movie all round....

So I went on IMDB to see what Bridget had been up to lately and she hasn't made a theatrical movie since 2001. The I read she had a serious accident and got married/had a kid. So maybe her career isn't that bad. Maybe she's just been too busy with other things.

I also discovered that she was born on January 27th. That's my birthday!! Maybe that's why I've always liked her.

Single White Female ruled!
If anything we should all love her. Didn't she have a cameo as Ash's girlfriend during the beginning re-cap of Army Of Darkness?!

I loved Point of No Return...but that could've been because that was the movie that introduced me to Nina Simone's music. Ah well, she's hot and a decent actor.

Oh wait, a Lake Placid 2 thread? Um....yeah, sounds like a great movie! (maybe not)

Bring on the 'gators. I have a guilty pleasure for cheaply done "nature run amuck" flicks..I'm sure this will be a fine addition to my collection.

Perhaps we can get a Boa vs. Python vs. Big Ass Lake Placid Gator petition going.

That quick-snapping crocodile of Lake Placid is making a comeback to town waters, according to Moviehole.net. Dave Flores (BOA Vs Python) is directing the sequel, which against pits a populace of innocent [and some not-so-innocent] folks against a crocodile that lurks in the local lake. Superman’s pop, ex-“Smallville” star John Schneider, will this time be left with a pair of scaly boots by films end. Co-starring with him, Cloris Leachman (Beerfest) and newcomer Chad Collins (Legion of the Dead). The movie, filmed in Bulgaria, will premiere on the Sci-Fi channel before making the quick route to DVD from Fox.

Never really liked Cloris Leachman. Definitely a poor replacement for Bridget Fonda.

I really liked the original - I usually hate it when they try to mix "horror" with comedy, but that was one of the rare times that it worked. Very witty characters and overall a fun movie. I doubt the DTV sequel will be much good, but then again, it's got a lot more promise than all the DTV sequels to movie that really sucked, much less the theatrical release sequels to movies that really sucked, so what the hey, I'll give it a shot.

Never really liked Cloris Leachman. Definitely a poor replacement for Bridget Fonda.

Not to mention, a poor replacement for Betty White!

"If I Had A Cock, This Is The Part Where I Would Tell You To Suck It!"--Betty White in Lake Placid!!

That cover art makes it look like it might just be bad enough to be enjoyable. Too bad I have to put up with Cloris!

Four Clips, Official Website For 'Lake Placid 2'

http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/10877

If you're into giant crocs and direct-to-video sequels then head on over to the official website for Fox Home Video's upcoming Lake Placid 2 to watch four clips and to dig on the content heavy website. Arriving on DVD January 29, the film begins years after two 30 foot prehistoric crocodiles are captured and killed in Maine, the local sheriff teams up with an EPA agent, a female Fish and Wildlife agent and a big game hunter, to kill four blood-thirsty offspring of the original killer crocs.

I wish there was a General Lee cameo.
