I would like to see this, but don't know if it's band in Canada or not.

I've seen bits and pieces of Aftermath on the Belly of the Beast docu on The Manson Family DVD disc 2. They talk about Naco's film, and with a bunch of Canadian and American filmmakers making movies and shorts that push the limits and are extremely hard to sell to get grants, distro, ect.

I'm hoping that perhaps I'll get my grubby hands on a copy at the upcoming Flashback Weekend. I read about these in the latest Rue Morgue and I gotta check them out.

How incredibly lame. I figured I'd have the best luck getting this one online anyway, but that's just pathetic.

I haven't seen these movies but I can tell I'll like them.

When will they ever learn that "banning" a retail item usually leads to bigger sales. I'd think this is good news for Unearthed Films. Gnagi?

True. To be honest, this wasn't on my radar. Until now.

Hahahaha, that's funny. Aftermath is fucking great, news like this just makes me smile.
This is the first I've heard about this movie....I know what I'll be ordering on Aug 23rd. This looks like a good blind buy.

I've been waiting on this disc for a long while. I noticed DiabolikDVD put this up for preorder a little while ago, if anyone is interested. It looks like there is going to be an "independant retailer" version cover, like Flower of Flesh and Blood had.
I pretty much do all my DVD shopping online anyhow, so this dosen't really phase me, but it still is a surprise, since like the article pointed out, the Guinea Pig films were available in Best Buy.

Awesome movie. Rue Morgue had a screening here in Toronto and some people actually fainted. Amateurs...

Am I mistaken or is this a "short" film, as in not 80+ minutes?

yeah, it's like a half hour.
Very good film, though I believe the impact I experianced was lessened by the fact that I viewed Stan Brakhage's The Act Of Seeing With One's Own Eyes a few days before being caught up with Aftermath.
I suppose the retailers carried the Guinea Pig Set because even though the first two films were pseudo-snuff efforts the rest of the series has nothing to do with that aesthetic.
Then again, I don't remember seeing Nekromantik in chain stores either.

Same here.
I have a tape of Aftermath. I think it's really good. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Cerda's work. The tape I have has some other short on it...I think from his film class or something. August 23rd, eh? Nice.

hahahaha....too funny. The film is amazing, one of the finest and classiest shorts I've ever seen. Too bad suits can't see that. I'll definitely be pre-ordering this one it comes out, as I only own it on a SE VHS, and I've yet to see Genesis, which I'm very much looking forward to :)

Are Aftermath and Genisis being released on one disc together or are they being sold seperately? I really don't want to shell out a bunch of money for a couple short films.

Aftermath and Genesis are listed at http://www.unearthedfilms.com/aftermath.htm as a double feature.

As far as Canadian retailers, Amazon.ca, Futureshop.ca and CDplus.com all list it w/ an aug 30 street date. Not sure if CDplus and Future shop will sell it in their stores or just online.

What an amazing documentary! In addition to the behind the scenes footage of the event and the interviews, I was very impressed by the selection of clips and gobsmacked that these passed the BBFC's review!
Ture, I wasn't even planing on getting this, until now, thank you Christian Right!

The Unearthed Films edition contains 3 short films, "Aftermath" (1:85:1), "Genesis" (2:35:1), as well as "The Awakening" (1:33:1). I was able to purchase a copy at the recent Rue Morgue Festival of Fear 2005 for $20 flat Canadian. This movie is not for those who are soft.

An IMDB quote "One man works in a morgue late one night and decides to get some action with one of the corpses on the slab, as well as take some leftovers home in a doggie bag"
That is just sick all. lol

I rented Aftermath/Genesis from Netflix, received it Tuesday, and watched it Wednesday Night. Pretty interesting. I think I like the 3rd short Better, Genesis. The DVD that came from Netflix had actually 3 shorts, Aftermath was the 2nd short and Genesis was the 3rd short. Aftermath is definitely not for the screamish.

Xploited are carrying this as well, if anyone is interested. I even saw it for sale at their table during Horrorfind. Looks... interesting.

I'm getting pissed. DDD shipped mine off on the 18th and it still hasn't made it here, but Oldboy, which shipped on the 21st, did make it.

I'll be getting this from Xploited once I got the funds. I always buy from Tony if it is available through him even if it costs a buck or two more. Xploited's customer service is top notch.

Ordered mine from Poker Ind. last week. Said it shipped on 8/25. Hopefully its going to be sitting on my doorstep when I get home. And I got the graphic cover, 'natch. Although I admit I like the artwork cover better than the graphic one, but had to spring for collectability, you know?

Just got mine in the mail today and finished watching the films. Pretty damn good stuff here, I kinda fell asleep during Genesis though so that one will need a second viewing soon. It seemed to be the wierdest from what I saw.
