Man, you know, living near somewhere like that might well draw me back to cinemas. I think I'd go to see all of those.

The Aero was a little neighborhood theatre in Santa Monica about a mile or two from the beach. The Cinematheque beat out Robert Redford and various others to buy and restore it; seeing Tobe Hooper talk about his film about three blocks from me is an awesome bonus. Old cinemas in Los Angeles either become churches or holes - there are so many of both!

I'm definitely gonna catch that "Deep Red" screening.

A few years back I went to the Cinematheque and saw TCM with The Time Machine(Tobe Hooper was the guest). Then I saw a while later The Fog, Escape from New York, and The Thing(John Carpenter was the guest). A lot of fun to be had. I'm gonna try and catch the Frankenstein double feature, Deep Red, and Star Trek.
