After all the Shriek Show crap lately this gave me a good laugh:

Sounds like fun, I've left all the cards in the cases so I'm going to go fill these out with his name/address and send'em it. I wonder if they're even catching on... A lot of stuff seems to slip through the cracks over there.

LOL, that's great! I've come to the conclusion that Media Blasters is run by automated robots who have a nasty little habit of screwing things up. Humans do not exist, or they are currently prisoners in the MB dungeons... and the damn robots don't even have the courtesy to answer their damn emails!!!

You know, I've emailed Blue Underground a couple of times and not gottena reply - do any of these companies bother checking their email/post? Which are the companies that respond?

I know Anchor Bay responds once in a while (or at least they used to) and I think I also got a response from Universal one time. But I also e-mailed BU before and they didn't respond. I know some of the bigger companies (like MGM) send out automatic responses, but I really haven't tried e-mailing any others.

I've gotten quick responses from EI Independent Cinema several times, and Unearthed Films was very good about responding to requests on updates. At least they use to be, after Rock & Rule they might have become too high profile.

I got a response from Felsher the one time I e-mailed AB.

Dang I have Bill Lustig's Blue Underground card right here and it has his personal email address, telephone number, fax and cel phone on there. Doesn't seem like it should be a hassle to reach him.

That's crazy, I saw him also at the con, he signed my maniac dvd.
I guess you were a girl.

Well it's printed on the cards it's not like he wrote it on there. And he gave me a Fire and Ice dvd with holographic cover. :)

LOL.
Did he give the fire and ice dvd for free?
I paid forty bucks so I could get it before the official release date. But at least Bakashi and Laspinia signed it for me.
Worth it? I think so.
I have the pics of my dvd up here on this thread.

I received a reply from NoShame, MediaBlasters (so many months later; it was before Invader Zim was released, and by the time they replied there were already 2 or 3 volumes out... :D) and that's about it. Wait, I believe I received a reply from Lions Gate, although it was a completely generic reply (they clearly didn't even read the original message, since the reply didn't make the slightest sense). Anchor Bay, Synapse, etc, were too busy...

That was a good laugh. The only company I've written to that has replied was AVI. I bought the "new" edition of Destroy All Monsters, only to find out that not only was it NOT a new 16x9 transfer, but it was the exact same disc they issued before. It still didnt even have chapter stops! When I sent a complaint email, they actually had the audacity to say that not only was I incorrect, but that I should check the settings on my player. ?!?!?! What, did I have it set to "ignore chapter stops"? Morons.....

He's actually a really nice guy. I got hold of him in New York City and he gave me his e-mail address, but it's not like I'm going to extraneously bug the guy beyond the necessary questions I already have about certain of his films.

Synapse responded to me once, then twice, then stopped. Then I personally handed them a sample DVD at a show and never heard from him again.

He use to, but he didn't post here during his last forum rounds with one of his news updates so I guess we're out of favor. I think Media Blasters use to post here too, we probably ran them off. :D

I don't think it's overly funny that these people would be run off of here.hese companies put out movies for us that might never be released otherwise.Maybe they screw up sometimes but overall they do a good job and their input on this forum should be appreciated.

I'd like to see these guys post here more often too. Blaster seemed to be a pretty cool guy who was often open to suggestions, but when confronted with criticisms against MB (some a bit harsh I will admit), he would tend to take them personally and get defensive rather than address certain problems. Personally, I have had no major issues with any of MB's discs until now (Amazonia is full frame on a standard TV). I would like to see him return to the boards and listen to what folks have to say, even if he doesn't necessarily want to hear all of it. I'm a little disappointed that this company has been around for a number of years and still has so many quality control issues, but any negative feedback should be used to improve the quality of their product in the future.

It's called biting the hand that feeds. If these guys feel welcome and don't have to hear a bunch of shit they will be more likely to come back.Insulting their work and putting their pictures in avatars certainly isn't going to keep them around.Insult betterdan all you want but leave these guys alone.;)
