Both movies have been released in Italy by NoShame in one package:

Ofcourse no English audio but I also started the thread for the upcoming US release of both films.
Although I already have the excellent release by Mondo Macabro I still have to pick these up.The MM release of Death..Midnight was slightly cropped (didn't bother me too much though).

So if there's any news about this release (in the form of screenshots etc.) feel free to share it here.

Now's waiting for the NoShame US disc....announced for 2006.

Shit, got the second title wrong. It basically means the same though.
Must be:
"Death Walks on High Heels".

Both are said to be mediocre affairs but I liked the first enough and even if the second is worse I think I'll enjoy it anyway.
All Gialli are always compared with Argento or Bava which I think is unfair (though unavoidable).

I have the Death Walks At Midnight PAL Import disc from Mondo Macabro. I've seen a lot of giallos, and this one stood out from the pack. Great camerawork and set design. I would certainly re-buy this DVD in NTSC format!

Here's a very good comparison between the UK disc and the new Italian one:

Well, hopefully No Shame will fix the supposed audio fallback problem and include an English dub. Either way, I will be looking forward to this somewhat although I have so many titles I really do need. I'm definitely watching anything NoShame does though because my experiences with Case Of The Scorpion's Tail, Strange Vice Of Mrs. Wardh, and Boccaccio '70 are freakin' great by all means. In fact, I just watched Strange Vice Of Mrs. Wardh yesterday with the English dub and enjoyed it much more than I did the first viewing in Italian. I wouldn't say that it was the dub that made it more enjoyable though since the first time I watched it there were about 5 people over and we were by no means sober so it was a little difficult to follow. Even then though I was commenting on how wonderful a picture it was and everyone was telling me to just shut the fuck up. Most of my friends just don't understand frame composition, mobile shots in a long take, and a score that accentuates these in such a moving way. I've finally gotten to a couple of them though.

I know this is going somewhat off topic, but dammit, I'm drinking and I don't want to start a new topic or try to find one in which this would be appropriate.

I remember when recieving Tenebrae (thanks again so much, SaviniFan!), I watched it for the second time with a girlfriend of mine and she was actually somewhat liking it. I started explaining to her some of the reasons why I enjoyed it so much and some of the more intriguing parts of it. Anyways, during one scene (not remembering myself since I had only seen it once at that point), I told her to start counting from one cut to the next. Of course I started counting out loud to stress the point and I counted to 12 before a cut was made.
About a week later we were wathing Underworld and I reminded her of the conversation and had her count during multilple scenes and I don't recall her ever getting past 4 and that was a dialogue scene (I believe the scene in Tenebrae in which I was counting to was a shot tracking behind some shelves in a store and watching the female lead, at least something to that extent.)
Anyways, I was happy that she enjoyed Tenebrae (she said she loved it) more than Underworld. Just for more information, this chick is somewhat one of those Goth chicks who loves anything and everything with vampires (especially female vamps?! Of course I couldn't help but fuck her after Underworld and again a few days later after watching El Topo, The Holy Mountain, and then during Santa Sangre. She didn't like really like El Tope too much, but loved the other two as well.

And God fucking Dammit, why do all the cool chicks have to move back home?! All the ones I really like and actully like me back are either taken by friends or have to go back to their family. At least when I go back home and need someone they're still there for me.

Anyways, sorry for that and back to the topic at hand.

Um, are the NoShame R1 releases of these films going to be presented as a double feature (like the Italian release) or are they going to be seperate? I'm going off to check the site now as that will probably answer my question, but I needed to get it back on track somehow.

No double feature in North America it looks like. Ah well, I'm all over these films in any capacity. The spiked glove in DEATH WALKS AT MIDNIGHT is one of the best weapons in giallo history. So awesome that MURDERBALL felt the need to borrow from it. You know just watching it that James Caan is channelling Pietro Martellanza.
