Announced a few months ago and now at the upcoming releases list at Noshame's site (http://www.noshamefilms.com/coming/index.asp).
From what I've read so far this could be a nice one.
Anyone seen it?
It's only ten years old but I have the feeling it might turn out well.
Described by the reviewer at IMDB as "Lovecraftian".Could be fun right?
I liked "Dagon",will I like this?

I have this on DVD and I won't be upgrading but I do like the movie. It's nothing like "Dagon", however. It has a slow and eerie feel to it and it's more reminiscent of "The Church" and "The Sect" in my opinion.

Not much yet, only some pictures of some Asian chicks .Don't get me wrong,I really like Asian chicks but this seems weird to me since this isn't Hideo Nakata's Honogurai Mizu No Soko Kara/Dark Water (2002).
I could be missing something here though...
One of the girls is a model named Sukie Tong:

Yeah..i didnt dig it too much myself and got rid of the dvd awhile ago.In all fairness though..the dvd itself was shitty from a a/v standpoint...which never helps.I'll probably give it another go when this disc is released.

There are no Asians in Dark Waters (aka Dead Waters). In my opinion the movie is actually pretty good but a little slow paced. It's thick on atmosphere as well. If you like the gothic feel then you'll like this.

I second that. It's a little slow at times, but heavy on the atmosphere. It also reminds me somewhat of The Church too.

Nope, no Asians at all. Much of the film was shot in around Ukraine and Russia, with much of the Cast and Crew actually being Russian.

That is INSANE!! There's about a thousand films I can think of that deserve this treatment way more than this film, but to see NoShame treat such an obscure film with such an awesome release is really cool either way.

Thanks but I think I'll wait for some reviews.Preferrably with screenshots.
I'm not sure what to expect from this movie since most people don't rate it very high.
But I might end up buying the cheap edition in the end.

This is what I wrote/asked earlier:
Described by the reviewer at IMDB as "Lovecraftian".Could be fun right?
I liked "Dagon",will I like this?
And this was the reply:
It's nothing like "Dagon", however.

But now i read this review (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=23671)and lo and behold:
At times the film is quite reminiscent of Stuart Gordon's Dagon and there's very definitely a Lovecraftian vibe throughout this whole film but it still manages to do things quite differently and stand out on its own as a very original piece of work.
Explain?:D
Ah well, include some water and an eerie atmos and you have Lovecraft right?;)

At the moment I'm out of money and won't buy this one. It's not at the top of the wishlist and frankly I think it's too "new" for me.
I want to explore the lost classics more first.
It won't fall off the radar I can assure you though :).

I'd say the film has a definite Lovecraftian vibe to it, at least some aspects of the film do. I think it's an excellent underrated film personally, quite atmospheric. I've only really ever seen the film in VHS quality however. The old R1 DVD put out by York (seperate and in a set) didn't exactly have a great transfer, so I look forward to seeing it with the new widescreen print.

I love this movie but it's nothing like Dagon except that there is a lot of water present. It's more reminiscent of The Church than anything else, IMO.

Man, I so busted up on the following line in the review:

Meanwhile the occasional malicious nun tries to shove her out a window or stab her

"Occasional malicious nun" - the guy should trademark that phrase!

No Shame’s limited edition Dark Waters DVD is their most ambitious release to date and it is one of the most impressive special edition DVD’s ever released

Sweet review, this sounds like it will be a great release.

NoShame has once again delivered an outstanding package for a relatively obscure film. The deluxe 2-disc set is packed with extras, and the print used is clean and colorful. No one will be complaining about this disc. While watching Dark Waters I was reminded of Soavi, Bava, Argento, and Fulci which is the highest compliment you could give to a Euro-horror film.
Seeing this again after many years, I am impressed with this production, as Baino really put his heart into this feature. My only negative is the lead actress' wooden performance. Luckily there is very little dialogue in the picture so the lush visuals and music more than make up for that. Recommended. Overall package and content 8.5/10

I picked up the L.E. set at Hastings for $26 last evening.

This is a really excellent, well-done presentation I must say. The stone amulet replica is surprisingly high-quality, heavy-weight and can easily be hung on a wall. It does resemble stone, of course it's really not...but it comes close. The action figure in the Emilio Miraglia set was fairly cheap, but this one is actually worth it.

Hey I just watched this movie and quite enjoyed its imagery. I was kind of lost with the plot though, and was hoping soemone could give me their interpretation of what this film was about.

What did the whole beginning with the priest dying and the kid handing the woman the statue all mean?
Why did the nuns kill Elizabeth's friend if she was just warning her not to come, wouldn't they not want her to come?
How come Sarah's body was covered in scars?
What is the demon in the basement, where did it come from?
What does all that mean with Elizabeth's mother really survivng, and with her eating the fish and the animal?
Were Elizabeth and Sarah demons like what was locked up? ect., ect.

I know most of the time horror movies don't make sense, but I was just curious if anybody had any thoughts or could make sense of what this whole movie was about!? I know I asked a lot of questions and I'm sure most cannot be explained, but if anyone can answer any of them that would be awesome. Thanks.
