View Full Version : Most hated Friday film!

09-28-2001, 10:08 PM
Rhett's poll on the favorite Friday film gave me an idea...

Which one do you like the least?

(Hey, I'm no HackMaster when it comes to polls. So sue me...)

Vote away, and feel free to comment. But please be gentle, it's only my second time. :p

And yeah, I really am a fan of the series. Except the one I voted for.

...no, serious, Jason Goes To Hell was the only one i didn't enjoy too much, though. it was a step down from the others, and that's just my opinion...before the bashing should start on me, all you part 9 lovers Go To Hell, too! ;)

I voted for part 8. Damn that film is awful. The end is one of the worst endings in the history of cinema!

Hands down, Jason Takes Manhattan is the worst entry in the series. This turkey had wasted potential and a ridiculous demise for Jason.

Confession Time: I didn't care for Jason Goes To Hell, but the unrated version features some bitchin' gore that makes it watchable.

anything after part 2. i wanted to kill my self

09-29-2001, 04:58 AM
Jason Becomes Freddy's Bitch (JGTH) was the worst one for me. Almost as bad as Part 8, but at least 8 was just Jason, not any of this body hopping nonsense. The tent-hump kill was awesome though.

09-29-2001, 04:34 PM
I liked JGTH.

Hated Jason Takes Manhattan. Didn't even stay awake long enough to see the end, but all this "little kid in the sewer" shit makes me want to see the last 15 minutes.

A Friday The 13th with hardly any Jason!?!? OK, part 1 didn't have Jason for a reason, but all of a sudden Jason is an evil spirit?!?!? Gimme a break!!! I just hope Jason X or Friday The 13th Part X (which I like to call it) is somewhat entertaining.

10-01-2001, 06:07 PM
I remember when the poster art for Jason Takes Manhattan was:
"I (hockey mask) NY"
which I thought was too cool, a play on the
"I (heart) NY"
theme that was once so popular. I'm not certain what happened, it's been a while since then, but they scrapped that idea.

Ad campaign was cool, movie was not. Thats what claimed my vote.

"Jason Goes To ******* Hell" is the worst by far !!!. (-Closely followed by Part 5.)

Gotta agree with the HackMaster, as usual: The gore is what I like about JGTH.

And since the poll's been up a bit, I'll fess up to voting for Jason Takes Manhattan.

Definitly part 5. Slow going, crappy gore (when there was any), and JASON ISN"T EVEN THE KILLER!! I know that was a spoiler, but since all you guys saw them all, it's nothing you haven't seen. And if I did spoil it, well, you should thank me because I saved you 90 minutes of your life! :D

Part 8 was actually a very, very guilty pleasure of mine.

I would have to go with the horrible part 8, that was the worst piece of shit ever created. I could not sit through the whole thing in one viewing, it took me about a week to finish off. Never again will I torture myself like that.

The first 7 films worked for me because basically they stuck to the same formula, and that was a bunch of teens goto camp, and they get slaughtered and play silly pranks. The last 2 started adding externalities to the plot and it all fell to pieces in return. Jason X breaks the code of the first 7, so odds are against it, but the buzz has been mostly positive, so anythings possible!

The fifth installment was my least favourite - I found no redeeming features of this tired flick.

Part 8, on the other hand, had a kind of cheesy charm....nostalgic and a little camp....

10-20-2001, 05:50 AM
The installment where Jason takes down Canada, a boat, and NYC.

10-20-2001, 08:11 AM
I hate all of them but 1,2,and 3

12-31-2005, 06:41 PM
Part 8 for me easily. I hated when it was released initially....and after many moons, revisting it from the Box Set..yep,still hate it.Time does not heal all wounds.. :D

I meant to vote for Jason Goes to Hell as it is the only one I don't really enjoy. However, I am pretty sure I messed up and voted for Jason Lives. That's what I get for attempting something as complex as voting in a horror movie poll before my second cup of coffee.

I've always enjoyed the 13th Series, they're Jason films (how couldn't you?) The only film that I did not like nor have purchased is part 9, I thought they were trying to do something too different and cut off the main attraction in the series, that being Jason himself. All the other ones I liked. For a series that has stretched this far, I find The Friday the 13th Series to be the best slasher franchise, next to Michael Myers.

My Vote is for part 9.

Wish New Line would make another one, but this time bringing Jason back to Crystal Lake.

12-31-2005, 07:05 PM
I can watch any of them, but if I had to choose between them it would be 9 - Jason Goes to Hell

12-31-2005, 07:16 PM
Friday 6. Blah! As soon as that paintball'er got face planted in the tree and it left a happy face imprint, I knew I was gonna hate this one cause it was absolutely retarded.

12-31-2005, 07:22 PM
I voted for Part 9, simply because it feels like an extension of the series, rather than a continuation. If Jason X had been on here, I would have voted for that. After seeing it in theaters and buying it on DVD, I thought I had struck gold until I realized I really didn't like it. I sold it and put that credit towards the From Crystal Lake To Manhattan box set.

12-31-2005, 07:38 PM
Part 3 is just shit but not as shit as Jason X

12-31-2005, 07:49 PM
Jason Takes Manhattan was the worst but not by much with Part 5 and JGTH right behind it.

Actually my least favorite friday film is the one with Ice Cube and Chris tucker.

12-31-2005, 09:59 PM
Had to go with Friday The 13th Part 7, because it was the weakest of all the series, in my opinion.

12-31-2005, 10:04 PM
Part 7, and Part 5 were the worst, I think. Part 8 was okay. I think Jason Goes to Hell is way better than those 3 combined, and I have all 10 Friday The 13th's on DVD, and Freddy VS Jason, and all Nighmare on Elm Street movies, so, yes, I am a huge fan of both series, and I have the 3D version of Friday the 13th, Part 3, which uses LCD Shutter 3D Glasses.

Part 8, which was painful to watch in the theater. I remember people getting up and walking out around the halfway mark...and I was so wanting to join them to the greener pastures outside. :(

12-31-2005, 10:55 PM
I think Jason Goes to Hell blows. Has some decent gore scenes but thats it.

I have the 3D version of Friday the 13th, Part 3, which uses LCD Shutter 3D Glasses.

I also spent the dough for the LCD shutter glasses...and wasn't too impressed. It seems to start and stop at random. Have you had the same problem with them? Kind of pissed me off that I paid $100 for them and can't even watch 3 minutes of 3-D before it starts sputtering out.

01-02-2006, 10:13 PM
I don't 'hate' any of them but I enjoy Freddy Vs. Jason the least. Why is Jason Goes to Hell included in the poll, but not Jason X or Freddy Vs. Jason?

01-02-2006, 10:28 PM
It's an old poll from 2001. Before they were made.

01-02-2006, 10:30 PM
Sorry. Didn't notice that. Oops. :)

01-02-2006, 10:33 PM
Part 8 and it's not even close.

01-02-2006, 11:43 PM
Liked most of them for the most part, but voted for 'Goes To Hell'. Also, not too keen on 'Takes Manhatten' or 'III'. That gay motorcycle gang that featured Gregory Hines and Janet Jackson in part III was just too funny. :)

Part 5. As craptastic as JGTH is, at least it was actually Jason. Well.... some of the time. I always felt cheated with part 5 and for that reason it gets the turkey vote in my book.

07-30-2007, 08:19 PM
The Muppets Take Manhattan. I mean Jason Takes Manhattan.

08-03-2007, 03:55 AM
Where's "Jason X"? That one makes "Manhattan" look like "Jason Lives"...

08-03-2007, 05:05 AM
Jason Goes to Hell...that movie blew total ass. Part 5 has to be one of my favourites tho. First Friday movie I ever saw. Half the reason I liked it so much was because when I watched the movie, I thought it WAS Jason, even when you see Roy's face at the end. I had no idea Jason was deformed because I hadn't seen any of the other movies. Thought it was just like Halloween where Myers looked completely normal underneath his mask.

08-03-2007, 05:08 AM
part 8 is simply put... a big piece of shit...

08-03-2007, 05:09 AM
Jason X for me.

08-03-2007, 06:04 AM
LOL who voted part 1?

Friday After Next

08-03-2007, 07:42 AM
LOL who voted part 1?

I will. 'cause without 1, there wouldn't have been a 2, or a 3, or a....you get the idea.

08-03-2007, 08:31 PM
I will. 'cause without 1, there wouldn't have been a 2, or a 3, or a....you get the idea.

 Surely you can't blame part V on part 1? LOL

Jason goes to hell was easily the worst. Jason's name in the title but hardly in the film? It killed the series dead and buried it. Jason takes Manhattan was the beginning of the end though and easily is right up there too. Jason X really didn't stand a shot of getting better after what parts 8 and 9 did to the series. All three of these films were bad bad bad and I try to wipe them clear from my mind.

I also try to forget parts 6 and 7. I found them both rather dull. Not awful like the last 3 but not good either. I saw them once or twice and thats enough for me.

I highly enjoy the first 4. I still think the original is best but I find part 4 the most fun. I think in my mind I try to think only of parts 1,2,3 and 4 then Jason v.s. Freddy picking up where 4 left off. It works well for me. Part 5 is a fun film and it was different, but I still enjoy watching it sometimes.

08-06-2007, 03:42 AM
jason X, yuck! Manhatten wasn't great, and Goes to hell was even worse, but X pretty much made a joke out of the franchise. like the leprechaun series, after x i was just waiting for jason in the hood.

08-06-2007, 04:49 AM
Jason X is my new choice, but dammit I hated 7. 8 is actually one of my favorites (although that ending is fucking horrible).

08-06-2007, 05:12 AM
Jason Goes to Manhattan. At the time it was released. I hated it. Not so much now, but I really don't like it. The cast is good, though.
