no suprise there really though....the new supposed "uncut edition" is apparently cut, missing two pieces of dialogue. One is where Lawrence tells Adam that if he doesn't get help, he's going to bleed to death and the other is when Adam calls out to Lawrence twice. Lawrence turns. Adam asks Lawrence if he's going to be okay. Lawrence replies, "I . . . I wouldn't lie to you."
lions gate is just one of the shittiest companies when it comes to releasing dvds, they can't release a damn single thing without fucking something up.. first it was high tension with the subtitle and audio dropout problem and now this, it's all bullshit

Whatever. I'll take a few more frames of gore over some more of Elwes hammy dialogue.
BTW, whats the problem with the High Tension DVD?

I'd take more Elwes hammy dialogue actually!
And Paul0889's High Tension comment is probably about when they arrive at the house you have added subtitles but no dialogue to support it. I could totally be wrong though.

the only extra gore added is in the one shot where a character is holding up anothers intestines and stomach. there are also a couple dialogue changes throughout where the dialogue spoken in different places(for example the scene where laurence is explaining about the jigsaw killer, part of it is heard while the man in the barbed wire cage is shown). it's a nice package though and has some good extras but it still pisses me off that lions gate screwed up the cut of the movie. as for high tension, yes there is extra subtitles when you select the french dialogue track in two scenes and there is an audio dropout on the french 2.0 track.

Are we sure this a screw up? Ive heard in several places that the filmakers oversaw this version as they were not so pleased with the appearance of the old DVD. They also say this is their preferred version. So who knows?

thanks, I hear that the package has some red liquid with stuff floating in it.

yes, it's a jewel case and on the front inside there is a pouch the size of the case holding the liquid, its definately one of the coolest dvd cases i've seen
That red liquid will probably dry out in about a couple of years or so.
Slayer released a CD single in a similar case about fifteen years ago and the liquid dried up leaving nothing but a powdery red residue and little plastic skulls inside of the "bloodpack."
They look neat, but they aren't long-term investments.

Yeah. That Slayer album was the first thing I thought of.

The live disc in the receint slayre boxset re-uses the bloodpack idead from the earlier slayer single....
Back in colleg I had a promo for tghe carcass heartwork album that was essentially an IV drip filled with fake blood---Somehow that didnt make it home from college. I think my mom didnt want it traveling back an leaking....
I think Violence put out an EP in a "vomit-pack." I remember seeing it on the Headbanger's Ball back in the day. Looked like about a ten-inch EP, and instead of a jacket it had a sleeve full of green, soupy looking shit in it.
I wonder how those puppies held up to the ravages of time...
