New DVD Company: Code Red!
Code Red DVD, a new label specializing in cult films, will unleash a slew of much-requested titles on DVD: the slasher flick DON'T GO IN THE WOODS, remastered from the original negative with many extras including commentary with director James Bryan and CKY's Deron Miller; the first authorized release of the drive-in classic LOVE ME DEADLY, remastered from the original camera negative in its long-unseen X-rated version; the killer cannibal camping flick THE FOREST; the low-budget kung-fu monster classick DEVIL'S EXPRESS; and 1975's FORCED ENTRY in its original director's cut. All discs will feature as many extras as possible, including commentaries and interviews! More information and titles to follow.

Awesome news! It's always great to see a new DVD company come out of nowhere, especially one that seems like it's interested in the old slashers. There are just so many great slashers not on DVD. I'll definitely be picking up Don't Go in the Woods. This isn't one of the great slashers I spoke of, but it is fun cheese. Aside from The Forest, I've never seen any of the other films.

Sweet. Now to just hope that they put as much care and effort into their releases as BU or NoShame.

Great to see a company that will release film's like these.I never thought I would see the day The Forest and Dont go in the woods released. They also have a good exploitation list going there.Crosses fingers that they will be a quality standard dvd company and not turn out to be a budget company.

The Redeemer and Devil Times Five!!! I was excited, but now I'm downright enthusiastic! Those two have been a long time coming, especially a respectable version of The Redeemer.

I have Don't Go In The Woods on VHS, and I will most definitely buy the DVD when it comes out. Redeemer look pretty good. I think I have seen The Forest before, but not sure about that.

I just looked at Devil Times Five, and Sorrell Booke was in it. Old Boss Hogg himself is in it.

Sounds good. I'm really interested because this company seems to be more devoted to the American stuff we haven't seen. Of course, I wouldn't complain if they jumped into some European stuff either. I hope they release Toxic Zombies, dammit.

I spoke to someone today from the company and they seem to be very interested in quality standard dvd releases. When I was asking to submit something for an extra, I got a response back about another movie from the same director and they basicly said they would not release a film because the original elements were lost and they are not going to release a pan and scan transfer and be bashed on the net.
So they seem to have Quality on their mind.Im stoked

I knew about The Forest a few days ago. I'm good friends with Gary Kent, who plays the killer. He mentioned that a company is coming to his town to interview him for a Forest dvd release. And when I emailed the director Don Jones a month or so ago, he said that he had been contacted by someone about a dvd release. And I can tell you that Gary also told me that the picture will be re-mastered from an original 35mm print!
I'm stoked about this one and I think this company might just surprise us and turn out to be something really good.
