Blue Underground, always the stickler for prestine audio and video presentation, has spotted and corrected glitches to the first two discs of their BLIND DEAD collection. As courtesy to those who have already bought the discs, Blue Underground is offering a replacement program to fix the discs. Simply send the DVDs by themselves (without case) along with a return address back to Blue Underground's office, and you'll be replenished with two reauthored discs. What exactly are the problems? Reportedly there is a one-second audio dropout in the Spanish Version of TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD, and a one-frame video/audio glitch in the Spanish Version of RETURN OF THE EVIL DEAD. Not a huge bother, but still, for those wanting the best possible version available, Blue Underground is making sure they'll fix their tiny mistakes. This recalls how they handled a similarly minor mess-up with their SADOMANIA and the return policy they implemented with that.

For those who want their fixed discs, send the DVDs by themselves (without case) along with a return mailing address to the address below:

I actually noticed the glitch on the Return disc and it bothered me even though it really shouldn't. I'll be sending the first two discs back now that I know this. THANKS!

I fucking hate Blue Underground anymore, fuck them.
You know what, it's fine if you live in the U.S. but if not it's not just as easy as dropping the discs in the mail. You can run into customs problems and shipping fees of like $7 to make sure your shit doesn't just get lost and you end up with nothing.
All this so I can have a properly funtioning disc that I pay for in the first play.
They need to have a P.O. Box in Canada and shit.

Still way better than Universal who knowingly puts out defective shit then waits for enough people to complain before offering any replacements.
That does suck you're outside the US and international postage is a crapshoot or expensive.

nice of BU to man up and fix such minor a problem. Some major studios STILL ignore some major problems with particular DVDs.

You can turn almost any thread to shit.Congrats.

I may send mine back but I don't think I even noticed the glitches. Now if there was a missing pubic scene, there would be no question about it.

What the....?

BU's customer service sounds unbelievably good. How can you have a go at them just because they don't have an office on your doorstep?!

I remember a long time ago, way before their UK arm, Anchor Bay sorted out a missing inner card for my Hellraiser set even though I was in the UK! Now that's what I call customer service.

I hope Bill Lustig breaks into your house and rapes your mother!!

Is there something in the water, today?

Jeez Louise...No kidding!!! I think it's great that a company is willing to put out the gesture first and cop to mistakes, and be willing to take care of things. That whole negative response made me really sad.

I really don't feel the need to replace mine just for those tiny flaws, but it's good to hear that they at least addressed the problem. I've had no problems with Blue Underground.

After hearing about this i quickly cancelled my order for the Blind Dead collection. I guess i'll have to wait for a better release.
You really think it was worth cancelling it?If the minor audio glitch bothered you then just mail the discs in.This is a must have set.

Over two tiny audio glitches I didn't even notice?100 bucks is pocket change for a true fan. You'd find something to complain about if they gave it away free.

Kudos to Blue Underground for offering this. I probably won't bother as the international thing makes it seem a little too much effort/cost for something that probably won't bother me, but I'm impressed with BU's obvious commitment to quality and customer goodwill.

I probably won't send it my discs, because a little thing like a second audio glitch to me is not worth it. But, Universal on the other hand, I have purchased Seasons 1 and 2 of Miami Vice, and each time, I have had one episode from the both sets freeze up on me. On Seaon 1 is was about 2 minutes into the 2nd part of Calderon's Return, when Crockett and Tubbs are going to the Carribean, with the song Voices in the background. On the Season 2, so far, it is only the 2nd episode, for about 3-5 minutes of the beginning of the episode froze. I am very tempted to Boycot any Universal TV Show dvds, including Seaquest Season 1, Knight Rider Season 3, coming out January 31st, and future Miami Vice Releases. And to boot, Universal charges WAY TO MUCH for these DVD 18 discs.

I remember at least one of these glitches, and at the time -- although minor -- I rewound just to make sure I'd seen what I'd seen. I think I'll return these, why not? Hats off to BU for for stepping up to the plate. As a consumer it further enhances my satisfaction with them for the high level of integrety they put into each one of their releases.

Ok, what did everyone think about the "Circus of Fear" disc that would just not play.
Cost me an extra $10 and a months wait just to get a working disc I paid for in the first place.
At least Anchor Bay would send you a extra disc or something. Not just let you get raped like that.

They should make sure they have their releases 100% checked before distributing them.
I'm happy that it's not a big deal to me, i didnt even notice the audio glitch, so i wont send it back. But if it would have have been something more important - i would be pissed off too. Shipping, Customs, time ... come on!! Wether it's Blue underground or Shriek show get it right the first time for christ sake!!

Even though their Quality Assurance department might need a kick in the butt, I have nothing but good things to say about BU's customer service. My Blind Dead box set was missing the bonus disc (I only got the empty case for it) and, after I emailed them about it, they promptly sent me the disc. I don't think I could expect the same response from other companies.
I did notice the audio glitch but I don't think I'll send my discs back just in case I get hit with customs fees and tax. The set was already expensive enough.

I'm going to return it. I heard from someone else that there was an audible "pop" on one of the discs, and that it was quite loud when h was watching this one cranked up. I figure I'll just return it and have done.

By this time, are all the discs sold by online retailers free of errors, etc. ?

I don't know if replacement discs are also considered for foreign customers.

The discs each came in the slim cases that people put CDR's in. Both discs have a V2 next to the number on the bottom of the artwork.

I sent mine in, so they better send replacements!!!! They should be here this week, or they better be, cause it's already been two weeks cause they got the discs on the 3rd of Jan. I had a tracking number for the package.

So have no fear, you'll get your replacements!

This is my concern as well. DDD has it for $60 or so but I'd rather wait until I know that I won't have to utilize the USPS any more than necessary.

I wasn't able to find the drop out on Tombs of the blind dead but just flipping through the chapters there is an rather annoying pop at 22:59 on the Spanish version of Return of the blind dead.

For those of you who returned theirs did you bother packaging it in a bubble envelope or did you just put them in a regular envelope with a note attached? I mean would they even care it showed up broken. It's not like they are going to resell it.

Mine arrived in a bubbled envelope, with the discs in separate regular paper cases. They got here quickly and in good shape.

i have tried twice to contact them but theyre not replying.

I too tried to contact them about the replacement discs about a week ago and got no reply. I got my set some months back and would like some glitch-free versions of the first two movies. I was cool with the glitches at first since I knew they were on all discs (my brother has a set too and I checked his), but knowing that there are newer, corrected discs, it kinda bothers me to know my discs are messed up like they are.
