Lionsgate Already Interested in 'Fear of Clowns 2'?

It was revealed to us today that Lionsgate has expressed interest in a sequel to their upcoming DVD release of Fear of Clowns. Director Kevin Kangas tells us they've already begun moving ahead on it. It will be shot in May '06 and the casting notice that will go out in the trades in January, but it can already be found here (so get on it actors). Inside you can check out a promo poster made to show to the producers what they'll be going for this time around-- it will be faster, bloodier and more horrific-- and yes, more clowns! FEAR OF CLOWNS 2 coming, and casting

Filmmaker Kevin Kangas has informed Fango that as his FEAR OF CLOWNS heads for its February 28 DVD debut courtesy of Lionsgate (see details here), he's already working on the sequel, FEAR OF CLOWNS 2. Kangas passed along the unofficial promo art at left and reports that he plans to begin shooting the new movie next May in Maryland, with auditions for supporting roles scheduled for January/February (click here for details). The story follows the first movie's Detective Peters as he tries to stop not one but three maniacs dressed up as killer clowns. "Obsessed detective vs. obsessed psychopath—heads will roll," Kangas tells Fango.
