Hello :)

I was looking at an Australian DVD website (on a whim) and found a PAL R4 DVD of Ruggero Deodato's BODY COUNT and the price is dirt cheap!

Here is the link: CLICK HERE (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/229293)

Anyone know if this release is uncut or not?

The only version I have is a Dutch PAL VHS and the quality kinda sucks on it.

P.S.
I seem to recall that Xploited Cinema offered a PAL DVD of BODY COUNT at one time but I searched their site just now (as well as Diabolik DVD) and neither site has it listed at this time. I seem to recall it was a PAL release but not an Australian release.

*** UPDATE ***
I just searched Poker Industries and they have the same release that I seem to recall Xploited Cinema had at once time.

Here is the link: CLICK HERE (http://www.pokerindustries.com/poker.store?page=item&sku=BODYCOUNT-DVD&pquery=body%20count)

This appears to be a German release since it has German and English audio. Poker Industries has the runtime listed at 83 minutes and the Australian website also has a runtime listed of 83 minutes.

I've had the R4 disc since it was released and, yes, it is fully uncut.

Thanks for letting me know ... I guess I can go ahead and order it now.

Are you aware of any other Australian R4 PAL DVD discs that might be worth picking up? ... as in stuff you can't get on USA R1 NTSC DVD discs?

That depends on the type of movies you enjoy I guess...

The Conan the Destroyer DVD easily blows away the lame Universal DVD. Commentaries, featurettes, etc. The picture and sound are far superior as well.

The Razorback DVD is supposed to be really nice too (I still need to get this!), even better than the Anchor Bay UK release.

Shock 'em Dead has a decent DVD released on R4, and it's still not available elsewhere that I know of.

Ghoulies III is a real fun entry in that series, and the R4 DVD looks pretty good. I don't think that one is available elsewhere either.

There's a Ghoulies III R2 DVD from the UK. Looks pretty good, fullframe though, could be the intended ratio.

I stand corrected then. The R4 is also fullframe, and the print looks good.

How is this film?

Deodato is really a hit and miss director.

Some are good, and some are bad.

Which category does this fall into?

Cheesy 80's slasher flick. Nothing special or groundbreaking, but better than many of the era. If you enjoy slasher flicks from the 80's, you'll probably like it.
